High-Schooler here in senior year.

I need some good math textbooks that cover all of pre-calc.

Because the states has its shitty education system, my textbook is a worthless piece of shit with no good problems.

Are there any Germans or Japanese that could name a good math textbook from your country? It doesn't need to be translated to english.

Looking for a melody associated with a white person trying to be gangster. I can't remember if it was from a full length song or not. It may have been background music from a movie or movie trailer as well.

The best way I can describe it is four low beats followed by a kind of digital higher melody. (dun - dun - dun - dun... bahbahbahbah-bah-bah...)

It is not gangsters paradise, and is a faster bpm than gangsters paradise.

Guys, I need to learn long division.

I made it all through school without it but now I'm going to go to college and I want some help.

Everything I see on the internet just confuses me.

So can someone explain to a complete idiot how to long divide?

I would be forever grateful.

i've never seen that style of notation used, but then again i probably grew up in different parts of the world. anyway, here's the idea, i'm sure you'll be able to adapt it.

let's divide 3584 by 6

you start from the left of the big number.

does 6 fit into 3? nope. add the next number.
does 6 fit into 35? yes. how many times? 5 times.
is there a remainder? 5*6=30 therefore yes, there is a remainder of 5.
that remainder now takes the position of the right-most number we've worked on so far, ie the second from the left (x5).
now we're back to the algorithm.

does 6 fit into 5? it better not be, because we declared 5 a remainder. therefore, add the next number towards the right.
does 6 fit into 58? yes. how many times? 9 times.
is there a remainder? 9*6=54 therefore yes, there is a remainder of 4.
the 4 is now the third position from the left (xx4).
back to the algorithm.

does 6 fit into 4? nope. add the next number.
does 6 fit into 44? yes, 7 times.
remainder is 2.

now the "how many times" numbers give us the result of the divison.
3584 divided by 6 is 597 with a remainder of 2.

picture is how i would write that down in school. mark your starting number (35). write down the "how many times" on the right so it spells the result. write the remainder in the line below, then carry the next number down.

>>54882
Think about it as a step-wise approximation of the quotient (result). You determine in each step a digit, beginning with the highest one.

You write in each step single digits as in your example or in >>54901 but the interpretation is that you compare and subtract "big" numbers.

If you divide 3584 by 6 as in >>54901 :

You first check if the first digit, 3, is divisible by 6 which is not possible. This means that the result is less than 1000:

3584 : 6 < 1000

Next, you take the first two digits, 35, and see that 6 fits 5 times in this result. This means

3584 : 6 = 500 + r where r < 100

That is, the higher-most digit is determined.

If you multiply by 6,
3584 = 6 (500) + 6r = 3000 +6r

Simplify:
3584 - 3000 = 584 = 6r

And therefore
584 : 6 = r

And you can repeat the steps above to determine the next digit (remind that the first result for the quotient is 500 + r where r < 100, that is, it doesn't change the digit 5.

How much parmesan should a risotto have? I tried to make one for the first time yesterday, but I used too much and turned it into something similar to cheesy baked rice. Nearly an hour in the kitchen for nothing :(

italian here.
It depens on tastes... Simeone likes more parmesan, someone less and someone ears it even without it.
My suggestion is to pur a cup of parmesan at The center of The table and everyone puts on it according to their tastes.
>>
This has to be the first /ck/ request I have seen in here. I'll tell you how my mother used to cook it.
The parmesan has to be grated and added to the mix little by little with the fire off.
Keep stirring until the grains stick together. I'd say 40 grams for two people is enough.
Maybe try asking >>>/ck/

Dear techs,
I recently purchased a 780TI to upgrade my computer. After installing it I ran a benchmark to check my preformance. I got 10500 in 3dmark fire strike 1080p. I'm also running a i5 2500k @ 3.4 GHz. I also got the brawn achivement, meaning that somehow my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu. What should I do? OC?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Just to clarify, it is the asus OC edition
>>
>>54684
If you say you know the CPU is bottlenecking then yes you can try OC but you better know what you are doing and make sure you make it stable at proper temps for your cooler. An aftermarket cooler could be best. That CPU is perfect for overclocking.

I'm not an expert but I think once a CPU is overclocked it runs constantly at that speed? I don't know but that may be something good to check if it's the case and you want to constantly be spending that electricity. I could be talking out my ass though.
>>
>>54684
OC this shit, it's what it's made for. Buy a custom cooler, though - 212 EVO and Cryorig H7 are cheap ($20-$40) and helluva efficient. with those you should be able to push it to 4-4.5 GHz no trouble without going over 60-70 C under load.

Hope that 780Ti was a good deal. nVidia's Gameworks tends to sabotage their older cards along with Radeons, raw 780 runs the new Tomb Raider on 960's level. Other than that, solid card.

I don't know if it could be a possible idea to get the "elastic" pockets here replaced with zippers by some shop?

Just bought this and the waist and wrist look in good shape it's just the pocket-elastic which looks like it may be fucked up. I'd like to get a more "perfecto"-like (perfecto is another style of leather jacket) zipper closures on the pockets. You think it is possible?

I also have windows so through boot camp. So the sound comes through the Aiwa speaker system on the Mac but one day, it just stopped working on the windows side. The only thing I downloaded was Firefox off their site. Now it only plays through the computer, I have been everywhere in the control panel. Has anyone ever had this?
