Over the summer I have been teaching myself VBScript just to pass the time. Lately I have been working on a simple TTS debug tool. The tool, when run, is supposed to create an input box to ask the user for their name while simultaneously reading out the text on screen. Then, it will display a message box telling the user what the program does, while, again, reading out the message box. If they press Exit, Cancel, or if they enter a blank into the input box, it exits. After that, it runs Defender, network troubleshooter, pings Google, etc.
Or at least I wish.
Instead, everything works fine, except that instead of playing simultaneously, the text is read and then displayed one after the other. I Googled it and looked on MSDN. It says stuff about all of the different ways to do it, using WaitUntilDone and all these other commands. What I really want to know is:
Which one do I use?
What would the code look like?
Is this the best language for me?
Is there any other errors with the code?
dim v
Set v = CreateObject("SAPI.SpVoice")
welcome = "Hello! My name is Rex. I am your complete computer debug tool."&_
" I will try to find and fix internet connections, remove malware, ads, and viruses, and I can help speed up your computer, with just one click of a button! What's your name?"
v.speak welcome
name=inputbox(welcome,"Welcome!")
If name = "" Then
WScript.quit
else
briefing = "Alright " & name & ", I will now guide you step-by-step to use free tools which come with Windows to diagnose and hopefully fix problems on your computer. "&_
"You don't have to download a thing. Is that alright?"
v.speak briefing,
confirmbox = msgbox (briefing,4,"Hello there " & name & "!")
end if
if confirmbox=7 then
WScript.quit
else
msgbox ("placeholder")
end if
Knowing my luck, it's probably an easy fix and I was just being stupid. Or I am getting into something I seriously shouldn't at my level. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Why would you expect two lines you wrote one after the other to happen simultaneously?
Msgbox "Wait people still use VBScript" ,vbYesNo+vbInformative+4096, "Really now?"
Does a higher res or standalone image of this miku exist?

So no, 525px is the highest res. But there's always waifu2x.

Now I want to visit Norway.
This may be the wrong board for this but, and bear with me here, could anyone help me in falsifying 30 volunteer hours with an NPO, or know how I could make it look like a actually did them?
Really all I need to do is hand the court a piece of paper from an NPO (non profit organization) saying that I did 30 community service hours.
If anyone works at an NPO that I could maybe just donate a lot to I'd be down for that. Or if there's any other way that would be possible I'm all ears.
I'm willing to pay or donate a lot, and the reason I can't actually do them is kind of embarrassing but if someone requires it in exchange for helping me I could be persuaded in answering that.
I was also thinking of incorporating my own NPO? If that could be possible, then just saying I did them idk.
Just go do your community service, you delinquent. Trying to turn in false records will just result in worse charges, such as forgery and perjury.
>>143690
It would be extremely difficult for me to do so, I'm sorry I can't really offer much more of an explanation than that.
If anybody works at an NPO that I could donate a lot too in exchange for hours, or can offer another solution I'd be very grateful
>>143692
Extremely difficult means it's not impossible.
If you can donate a lot, then donate altruistically and do your time. Perhaps it'll be possible to do them during hours more convenient for you depending on the NPO.
I make some diy rings, a friend requested an engraving with something spiritual
maybe with symbols or in an other language
Someone got any ideas ?
This symbol and a Prince quote of your choice.
Something like "Despite everything, no one can dictate who you are to other people" or "Too much freedom can lead to the soul's decay"
>>144009
Thanks !
These words hold great potential power, however you must not speak them out loud for it attracts evil spirits and such.
Looking for a pirated/free to download version of this documentary.

Wrong film, sadly. The one I want is "Angel of Nanking": Story of a guy saving people from suicide.

I'm sorry for making such a stupid request but... natives, I'm counting on you!
So is it okay to say "Those were not your actions that lead him to his death"? Is it grammatically correct? Does it even make any sense? If not, help me please. Thank you.
>>143648
Almost.
"Were those not your actions that lead to his death?"
"Your actions lead to his death, did they not?"
Leading him to his death isn't apt or good usage. Leading him to his car, or to his house, makes more sense. But actions lead to something.
>>143650
I don't know what this anon is talking about; leading someone to their death is absolutely something that makes sense, and is a common turn of phrase.
As for the suggested alterations, I don't think the statement is meant to be a question (note that the question mark is outside of the quotation marks).
The only thing that I see somewhat off about the sentence is the use of the definite article "those". It would flow better to use the word "it" - "It was not your actions that led to his death.", or "Your actions did not lead to his death." to be even more succinct.
Oh yeah - the past tense of "lead" is "led".

Thank you so much!
Requesting some summer anime to watch this season. The only things I'm planning to watch at the moment are the second season of Shokugeki no Soma and that new Berserk anime.
/a/ keeps on drumming up Orange, Battery, and Relife so I'm planning on watching them, or atleast giving them a fair try.
You'd probably like Mob Psycho 100 as it's the closest thing to a battle shonen, and that seems to be your tastes, it's also originally a ONE manga, so if you like OPM you might like it.
I'm personally super excited for Amanchu, as it's made by the girl who wrote Aria, Handa-kun, as it's a prequel of Barakamon, Active Raid S2, and 91 Days, because the setting looks interesting.
Are you asking for suggestions on what shows to watch that air this summer, or do you want anime set in the summer recommended to you?
If it's the former then Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan, ReLIFE, Mob Psycho 100 and Amaama to Inazuma may turn out to be enjoyable.
Your best bet is to keep an eye on /a/ for threads exactly like this. There's one like it right now, in fact.

I don't know the source, but that looks like a KanColle girl
I'd post it, but it's NSFW.
It's Akagi from Kantai Collection, drawn by itirubou on Twitter.
>>143593
Could you post the link?
What anime is this?
Really am curious, it looks good.
>>143530
Cromartie High School. It is good.
It's not obscure in the least, it was dubbed on american television, and as far as I know it's the normalfag example of the "one good comedy anime".
