Nothing is stopping them from doing that in their intros, its just a very common sight in the bumps and people have brought it up before.

Threadly reminder for people to not use "Hey wsg" as an introduction to the bump. But to not be an asshole lemme try to explain why.

Imagine you are sitting in a room with another person. Both of you are aware of each other but feel no need to talk or greet. By being in the same room whatever one person says will be the only point of focus for the other person. This is something that is an unspoken agreement between both of you since you are in the same empty room and choose to be in that room. You both are sitting in comfortable silence until someone has something to say.

Just get straight to the point. This is not a setting where social conventions like greetings are needed or expected. By watching the bump the viewer has already agreed to the idea that they are being spoken to and dont need to be greeted by the anonymous person behind it. It is a one way communication from creator to viewer.

This, as much as I enjoy the wsg bumps I do occasionally find myself skipping to the next bump as most of them take too long to get to the point of the message. I felt that I needed to address this issue in order to stop the bumps becoming stale. Original [as] bumps usually don't last more than 10 seconds unless its the text ones.

I don't see why the hate about saying "hi wsg" at beginning of the videos. I think the point is that we don't need to keep saying hi in the beginning as we already know we are gonna watch a bump so when you see three videos in a row that say hi wsg it becomes overused

Ive been here since the first thread, to share an [experience] but honestly people saying its going to cancer are too pessimistic. The only thing that's changed is the quality of the bumps are better as more oc is made. Maybe establishing rules is not the right thing to do, but also being able to correct your errors for your next bump is important too. Haven't been too vocal but yes, I dislike "hi wsg" and general "filler" slides, such as "um" or "...". They take too much time and add very little to the bump. If you don't want people to get bored and start fast-forwarding through your bump or skipping to the next one, trim the fat. I think it is just part of the style. Part of the charm. I mean you could apply the same logic to the [wsg] or the black backround, the formula or the style of music and clips. Of course some thing will repeat and most of these bunp will be kind of similar.

The easiest way I know of is to find a nice, high-res version of the cover art online, throw it into WebM for Retards, press "Dub" with the "Loop Video" option, and encode it at 1fps while leaving the audio quality as high as you can get away with in 4MB.

If you can't find the cover art online, extract it from your mp3 with mp3Tag.
