Synthwave is a form of Electronic music that takes most of its inspiration from synth music and pop culture from the 1980s. Musically, synthwave is often instrumental and has a "futuristic" theme, with large, throbbing, retro synths. House influenced heavy drums (often side-chained) are also very popular. Eh, its not that hard, they are very distint in its stylistic and have little to no commonalities whatsoever, claiming synthwave is just another form for vaporwave is like claiming metal as classical music. How I see it is that Synthwave is the overarching genre, which is of course, based under the EDM genre.

i disagree, I think Home definitely classifies as synthwave. 80s pop hooks mixed with the synth sounds from blade runner and some funky ass beats, that's synthwave all the way.

Also, the emphasis on driving in the music videos point to this being a synthwave song.
