See, I didn't know at the time, but the hallway that i was on was the 'touch and go' hallway.
So anyway, one day anotehr little boy was put in my room. I forget his name. but being confined to my bed pretty much all day and night for months had made me pretty lonely. So me and this little boy became fast friends.

His dad use to come visit, he was a really nice guy. Him and a male nurse to lie to me about there being giant lego bricks that you could build actual houses out of.

So, one night, this kid starts dying. me being 4 i have no idea whats going on. His dad saw that i was freaking the fuck out, and that his son (who had some super terminal illness) fought down his tears and sat next to my bed, while the nurses and doctor went about declaring his own son dead, and kept me company, talking to me, telling me about how his son had gone to a better place (I'm an atheist now, but man, i was 4).

So anyway, come morning, my dad comes to see me. he looks at the now empty bed, and in his words, without thinking asks "Where's <Insert name i forgot here>"

And my dad swears that my exact words were "Oh, he had to go to somewhere better. his daddy came and said goodbye and then they took him away so he could rest for his big journey. but don't be sad, daddy. He's happier now"

Dad has informed me that this was one of his hardest moments.
