first time posting
Hiya everyone.
>>1726019
the gaps between your windows arent consistent
im being triggered
>>1726022
There are no gaps, the title bar is a bit larger though, else I can't grab it.
>>1726024
use this little thing, http://p.pomf.se/4852
alt + hold left mouse and drag
alt + hold right mouse and resize
>>1726029
Used it before, didn't like it.
>>1726030
i usually have it disabled because i never move windows with my mouse, it has its uses though
sometimes i accidentally drag games off screen, pretty annoying

>>1726028
Now here is a proper scrot now that I've actually got my stuff together.
New thread new post. Still just basic things changed.
>>1726017
Nice one. Your torrent client could look better, but not even I care enough to make that happen.
>>1726072

>>1726076
Should have let the patcher change your start orb
>>1726067
decagonal pls, the fact that you took the time to organize your inventory like that blows my mind.
>>1726093

Y-you too.
Nothing too spectacular. Just some rain meter skins that i edited as well as ones i made myself. All of the minimalism is stuff I did for myself. It isn't anywhere near completed but I am too lazy to finish it up at the moment.
>>1726014
Care to explain how to kill your windows like this? It looks amazing btw.
>>1726111
I know how that feels. It's hard to commit something like that without having gotten into a game first, which I'd like to do if they would just send me the confirmation code already.
>>1726130
What shell style is that? I'm also curious about your FF CSS.
>>1726132
I just noticed い got cut off in my wallpaper after posting. Oh well, I'll fix it later.
Been awhile, /w/alls
Changed wallpapers and decluttered a few rc files.

Great as ever never better
But i really want to know after all this time: does your bbleanbar hide itself when you have FF in the foreground?

Looks like blackbox with a generic dark grey/white theme. CSS is probably a noha rehash.

That icons...where
I know there's a lot done on Windows 7 ricing, but what about 8.1? Some stuff doesn't work because of Metro UI (specifically bbLean).
Trying a different effect for the background, but alas I suck at renders.
>>1726913
What about bblean doesn't work with 8.1?
>>1726913
For a background, try a subtle pattern or brighter color with a nice drop shadow on your vector/render.
Works every time.
Pretty much everything on nanami-tan works on 8.1, and there are only very few things that don't work in bblean on 8/8.1 (Specifically network stuff because that's specifically metro) but even those can be fixed with some bblean menu magic.

How the hell do I fix these black lines? I've finally made the leap to the newer firefox (from 28) and I'm trying to fix the css to look like it used to. The only way it changes is through classic theme restorer so far.. (I can't remove the lines!) Any help is much appreciated. This is driving me crazy.
How come bblean doesn't always show the regular right-click menu on every task (the one that says Close Alt+F4)?
>>1727234
Although I'm not sure, you could try
#TabsToolbar .tab-background-start,
#TabsToolbar .tab-background-end {
display: none;
}
New to all of this, looked through the sticky but didn't immediately see an answer.
How do I hide desktop icons?

I'm having trouble while trying to use transmission with cygwin.
Where exactly do I get transmission-remote-cli for it?
>>1727432
It's bbleanskin (Though my actual windows theme is default w/Aero Glass) and fb2k w/Speight which I only modded a tiny bit.
>>1727481
No. Even though almost everything on nanami-tan works on 8/8.1, it's still a windows 7 guide therefore the visual styles on it won't work on 8/8.1 (And I don't recommend trying, unless you can port the theme yourself). You can find 8/8.1 themes on deviantart.

I "manually" tile with an AutoHotKey script.
To use it, just open index.html. Set that as your New Tab/Home page. That easy. The search bar googles whatever you put in it, unless it's one of the shortcuts set in script.js. Open that to change and see the default stuff.

Super minimal sometimes requires you to use bbLean. With normal Visual Styles, you have to use an AHK script or even TrueTransparency to get rid of captions, for example. Borders are 3px/2px min, though you can use transparency to make them "smaller". I've made a Visual Style myself, but I only see it when I'm using a program that doesn't behave/look good with bbLeanSkin. On my bbLeanSkin style, every window has a 1px black border and that's it.
>>1728332
I made a Visual Style myself, but I use bbLeanSkin with my style for most windows.

Those settings are for the NG Playlist. What you need to do in right click on your playlist and go to your settings then change them from there. Same for your visualizer.
>>1728275
>win8
what do you use to change the startorb? or are you doing it manually?
also is it safe to use bblean in win8?
>>1728586
Works fine, I think. What do you mean, safe?
>>1728590
Oh, i was just wondering wether it works on windows 8 without any major issues.
>>1728586
I use classic shell with the setting in the image.
I had bblean work fine on the original Windows 8. But on 8.1 I had a lot of issues with it when I tried to set it as shell.
I'm not sure if it was just a problem for me, but I didn't see any benefit using bblean since I use AHK scripts to do everything anyway.
>>1728591
There are some issues if you use it as default shell, without explorer running in the background. It becomes unable to use Metro, which is not a big deal all by itself, but remember you need Metro for little stuff like changing Wi-Fi/general network settings, brightness, etc.
Running foobar_ncmpcpp_mod from twnsnd@dA
What's the easiest way from replacing last.fm support from it?
Removing Components is easy cheesy, but it's the UI that's a pain in the butt

>the playcount statistics come from last.fm and need to be set up for those who do not want playcount syncing with last.fm right click on el_playlist goto the main script and change %LASTFM_PLAYCOUNT_DB% to %play_count% also go into the main splitter settings (right click on top bar>splitter settings) click on 'Playcount Sync' and check hide at startup
>>1728699
I'd recommend copying the fcl and naming one the original and the other custom or w/e, that skin takes a bit to get use to the code and editing it, definitely not impossible though.

Anons what do you use to remove the titlebar from Firefox? AHK gives me some problems

>>1728843
Disable the titlebar first, or try Melbourne and mess around with it to get the hang of CSS
I no longer use bbleanskin! Only the taskbar, now (on other monitor). Hacked up a .msstyle that pretty much mimics how my bbleanskin looked, but without all the finicky frame issues. Thank rurigokou for the startpage, been using it for what seems like forever with a couple tweaks for comfy.

>>1729316
Personally, I've already become attached to the speed and familiarity of 8.1, so I would say no. As far as ricing goes on 8.1, a lot of visual styles from 7 can be ported over like how >>1728009 did with his by saving the images and pasting them in via style builder.
If you're absolutely dying to have bblean on your computer, then windows 7 would be better for that in my opinion.
But if you're really serious about ricing, switch to some form of Linux.

first time using linux because I can't install windows
>>1730183
It depends on the desktop environment you're using, be it GNOME, Xfce etc. Look it up on Google and refer to the guides in OP.
>>1730183
That are themes, look for gtk3+ themes on gnome look (for mate, gnome3, xfce etc.) you can also check under "themes" section in cinnamon
But please, if you have Ubuntu - change unity to something else eg. Cinnamon.
You can also install window manager like awesome wm; openbox; blackbox; bspwm. I'm pretty sure that they have themes too but it's mainly terminal work.
>>1730183
Which version/distribution of linux?
>>1730131

>>1730149
If the urlbar is hidden I think using ctrl-L or alt-D will automatically bring up a box to enter a url. Otherwise, you could just edit the css to move the urlbar somewhere else and set the opacity to 0.
>>1730148
somehow in spite of having visited that vs countless times over the past year the fact that you were the author has evaded me

Instead of using CSS try this addon.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fullscreen-toolbar-hover/?src=api
It'll do what you're looking for but without disabling the tabs and nav/url bar in Firefox so you can always access it.
It's pretty nice.
>>1730275
Thanks, the addon worked. The only problem I'm having is the top of the page is clipped off a bit. You know anyway around this?
>>1730299
I'm not really sure exactly what you're talking about though. Do you have the 1px pad enabled? That may be the cause.
>>1726837

do you have a link or config data?

>>1730301
nvm I'm retarded. It's my css that's messing it up.
Just freshly installed Windows and BB4Win on my laptop. Apart from changing the theme and removing the clock panel thing, I haven't touched the config, and honestly don't know what I'd be looking for.
Any idea why my system tray icons aren't showing up?

>>1730339
Sorry, disregard that, rebooting fixed it.
>>1730341
With awesome the frames/panel are designed by your awesome theme. I think xsetroot is used for a wallpaper but you define your wallpaper in your awesome theme anyways.
Other than that any graphical programs you install will probably use GTK+ or QT or possibly something else.
~
Anyone here use Cheese and find it can't automatically set the exposure for the image but it is fine in the preview? Maybe is is a problem with iSight firmware... GUVCView works fine but it is shit and conflicts with some outdated packages I need anyways...
>>1726126
my god, what did you use for this? looks fantastic.
>>1729729
Ubuntu is spyware and unity is shit. Use Xubuntu or one of the others.
>>1730341
For your terminals edit the ~/.Xresources file
For awesome, in your rc.lua there's a line that points to your beautiful.theme, just make your own theme.lua file and point it to that
As for GTK theming, I use lxappearance to manage that and install new themes / icon sets.
Once you get used to it, ricing linux is much more straight forward than windows.
I know, it's terrible.
>>1730412
Why not use w3m for preview of images? And what is that torrent client you're using?
Did you edit your own layout? That looks comfy. I'm still trying to figure out how to do make gaps in between the rows or around the windows.
>>1730431
It doesn't work with termite, but I prefer termite over urxvt so I can live with it.
In that screenshot everything is manually aligned but I use lain tiling layouts for useless gaps.
Torrent is transmission-remote-cli.
>>1730432
Thanks, pic related is my desktop, since I'm too dumb to install Arch (well maybe less now)
Sorry to bother you with questions, but what is that comic/picture viewer? I've also been looking for pdf and epub viewers with less to no UI and customisation, and can't seem to find one. And Calibre leaves too much footprint imo.

What OS is it? I know it is linux but which one?
Anyone know how I can get my "Mumble" to work with autohotkey? I can't hide the titlebars or move it around with my grid tiler. Sometimes it works.. but most of the times it just sits there. I'm using 1.2.8 if it matters.
server, need better wallpaper
These call look cool, but I sadly do not have windows 7, what the hell do I do?

>>1730972
You do research, choose a distro, do more research on the installation of that distro, then install it, then pick an environment, and do more research on how to rice that particular one.

Sadly, that resolution prevents me from using most pixel fonts. More or less limited to Droid or Ubuntu stuff.

because I like that its kinda simple, and a basic dark theme. As for suggestions, I don't have much experience with linux, so I can't help you there

^Add that to your grid tiling script if you're having the same issue. Mumble will move fine now

If you're fine with how things look now, you should consider creating your own color scheme on everything.

That should be conky, but if it's not, conky serves the same purpose, and it's customisable.
