You make the cutest wallpapers!

On a side note, I believe I will be returning to the white icons, don't really like these too much.
>>
>>1731226
Find some subtle squarish icons and I think they would work wonderfully.

I really wish that theme would get ported over to Windows 8. I really do love it.

Also, I am confused as to how you removed your tabs. Enlighten me

Kate can be added as a mascot, Oneechan handles that nicely. The colours are done by CSS or an Oneechan theme.

Basically just do it yourself.

Doing it yourself will be more rewarding and allow you to become familiar with CSS, which is always useful.
It really won't take you that long and it will allow you to make your own changes and take it down your own stylistic route. Don't just rely on copying other people's stuff.

The text glow on your tabs doesn't look great, I'd get rid of it. Your colours could be more consistent (see the blue names in the 4chan CSS). You've got bitmap fonts everywhere but the browser, I'd advise making all your fonts sans-serif as it'd look nicer.

>>1731693
As another anon said you need to fix your foobar font, I'd also change the foobar colours while you're at it. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you've taken the default colours for that foobar skin and applied them across your rice, I find that quite amusing. I'd do something about the render on the left screen as it's a bit messy. I don't know how you put up with that music-visualiser-rainmeter-thing but each to their own, I guess.

>>1731712
Fix the firefox fonts. Nice wallpaper.

>>1731720
Grab some custom icons for the taskbar. I'd do something with the 4chan CSS, the purple doesn't really fit in. Try and fix that issue with the browser caption bar. Again I'd recommend replacing those bitmap fonts with a sans-serif font to increase parity (and because sans-serif fonts look nicer).

>But really, buying a laptop without ethernet is just retarded.
The only time I ever used ethernet on my laptops was installing Gentoo. It's really not that retarded at all, especially given the fact there's no other laptop which can properly utilize high PPI displays other than the rMBP.

>did you ever thought about having to move a lot of data via network?
I don't have multiple computers. I had a desktop but I turned it on maybe 3 or 4 times a year and decided to give it to my sister when hers broke. Wifi isn't that terribly slow on LAN.

If I understand you correctly what you want is to make the tabs fill all the tab bar instead of having normal width.

This line does it for me, tried it on other CSS as well

well, I am going to assume you are new to Linux, which is cool always nice to have more people giving it a try. Really you kind of just need to run headlong into it with the assumption you are going to fuck up and break Linux. hell you're in a VM, so there is no downside. over time and a few Linux installs it should become pretty easy. I am going to also just guess you need everything from his desktop since there is really only one element that's wintery that he has.

first he's using openbox as his window manager/shell so you need to replace cinnamon with that. you can probably find openbox in mints software center, if not Google will tell you.

next for the snow: http://www cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-unix-xsnow html
it is pretty self explanitary since it walks you through it, all the way to getting rid of Santa.

wallpaper is just weeb with term ika wall.

his terminal is using screen fetch, also can find it most likely in your software center. if not you will have to Google how to install it via command line.

And there is your holiday gift, the only Linux faggot to ever help a newbie with a question. my edgy black eye Emma wallpaper must be making me soft.

Thanks man, you're awesome. Have a wallpaper.
I've actually found that xsnow tutorial a few weeks ago and managed to install xsnow on Mint in the VM. However, the snow doesn't fall when I'm running the command in bash.
So I dunno what to do in that case.

It might be that the desktop is covering it up, type in to the terminal xkill, then hit enter and it will wait for you to click something, click anywhere on your desktop.

This works for most desktop environments, but some, namely MATE will restart automatically.

I forced myself to finish it last month. It was the most boring book I've ever read. Now I need to finish A Dance with Dragons before Season 5 airs.

>>1734740
If you're only interested in ricing, stick with Linux. I'd take editing config files over the pain that is ricing Windows any day. If you are into photo/video editing, gaming and what not, choose Windows.

I really just don't understand the logic behind this. Wouldn't you just be paying more for the windows 8 install and a bunch of proprietary packaged bullshit?

You can get the nav-bar to overlay by setting

position: fixed !important;

Though the content wont resize then as it will be on top.

This is pretty standard for me. Zero performance issues. In most cases windows classic themes end up being the same as aero themes, with aero themes tending to draw windows better because its actually using the video card and not on board graphics.

I've been using bblean for a while now, and I've never been able to figure this out:

How do I make menu.rc recognize my non-standard program files folder as a standard program files folder? By that I mean by default, the folders in the start menu do not show files other than .exe files with the extensions hidden.

I tried adding the folders manually "{STARTMENU|COMMON_STARTMENU|"Z:\Program Files"|"Z:\Program Files (x86)"}" but what appears is every .dll and every uninstall file along with the programs.

I'm guessing I'll have to change something in my registry so windows recognizes those folders as program files, but I'm, not sure which one really.
>>
>>1735930
http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/1137/

That's all I found. Anyways, if you don't want to mess with these things and the list of programs you want to display is short, just make a shortcuts folder and place shortcuts to everything there.
>>
>>1735942
Thank you. Turns out I already have the directories changed to my custom location, but that shortcuts folder is a great idea. Simple but it will do exactly what I want. I appreciate it, thank you.
