>it's a Nintendo parody episode
what's the name of that episode?
>>4224802
That was one of the best episodes man.
>>4224802
This board hasn't made me this nostalgic in a long time, holy shit.
>>4224802
That was my favorite episode as a kid, I had it taped.
>>4224802
That's the Atari 7800 version of that game lol
They had an episode that just used footage from labyrinth it was amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL-G-Rj61VU

You just know Mr. Dink had a Neo-Geo. Doesn't compensate for his balls not working, but all that extra money must be fun?
>that episode of Roseanne where Dan is playing SMW and says a skeleton stabbed him and there was blood everywhere
They had the SNES right there on the table, someone on set must've played it. No one caught this blatant error? Maybe they meant a Dry Bones but there's no blood.
>>4226440
shit he probably owned a Laseractive, CDi, and a 3DO. He was alsoa jew
>>4226445
I always hated Roseanne honestly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojF802Xafoc
>>4226445
They just didn't give a shit, they probably just thought everything was Mortal Kombat. Normalfags love parroting whatever horseshit they half-understand from (((the news))).
Do modern cartoons still parody video games as bleep bloops and pixels?
I remember them still doing that in Fairly Odd Parents when 3d games were very common.
>>4226462
Who dat qt redhead?
>>4226462
DJ's Game Boy was also shown a few times. Like the SNES, he had a folio for storing all his game cartridges.
I wonder if Nintendo had some kind of partnership going on with the network.
>>4226854
>Who dat qt redhead?
Molly, one of their temporary neighbors. I don't know the actress' name, but I'm sure you can Google it.
>>4226868
I feel bad for Dan. The guy just wanted a simple life and a nice family but got stuck with a bunch of bitchy kids who don't listen to him and a wife to screeches and flies into a rage if she doesn't get her way. Then all the stress drives him to a heart attack.
Just remember guys, it could have been any of us. Stick with the games. They will never betray you.
>>4226445
Pointing out errors in some irrelevant video game trivia in a sitcom episode to the writer is going to get you some "look at this nerd" glares and absolutely no changes to the script.
>>4226847
Half of the new games made these days are bleep bloop pixel indieshit.
>>4226939
But Dan was dead the whole time, you know.
>>4226440
His balls don't work on purpose, fuck as much as you want without worrieing about kids
>>4226847
Modern TV shows still talk about video games being score attack Pac-man clones that maybe look like Doom if you see the screen.
>>4226847
modern cartoons are made by artschool hipsters so they love retro games. Regular Show roasted Billy Mitchell
>>4227040
Not the whole time. I think it only changed to fiction after Roseanne got that writing room. I remember reading the earliest seasons were still supposed to be "real".
>>4227145
Elements of the series were supposed to be "real," but Roseanne broke the fourth wall in the final episode and noted some changes she had made, such as reversing some of the characters' roles and keeping Dan alive. Dan was actually supposed to be dead after his heart attack in the eight season.
The series is getting revived with a new season in 2018. I have no idea how the writers plan to reconcile all the bullshit things that got swapped around in the final season, though.
>>4227169
>The series is getting revived with a new season in 2018
wat
Every cartoon had the characters not do homework and they'd fail tests. And in the end they'd realize playing video games was hurting school life.
>>4226847
>Do modern cartoons still parody video games as bleep bloops and pixels?
Yeah. It'd be weird for cheap vector animation to suddenly switch to realistic CGI.
>>4226854
Danielle Harris. Was in Halloween 4, 5, Rob Zombies remakes and a shitload of other horror movies and shows. Still pretty cute to this day.

dude I had to write a report on a type of fucking rock used in architecture in an art history class in college one time... I played a lot of pretendo and finished the paper an hour before class. I learned more about life from cartoons and video games than from school. Also anime sometimes has vidya references but I guess this is a western thread.
>>4227593
>anime sometimes has vidya references
Anime's been making vidya references for as long as there's been vidya. Literally.
>>4227169
No, Dan was dead the whole time. The heart attack was her actually dealing with how he died but the entire series is just a story she wrote.
Sort of a St. Elsewhere thing.
>>4224802

By all means, weeb it up. Who gives a shit?
>>4227640
>le "I visualized it this way all along" not "this is how I backpedal everything I didn't like in hindsight"
Why was Dexter such a pleb?
There was a Doogie Howser episode where Neil Patrick Harris is telling some kid on his death bed that he could be like Link and kill Ganon with an arrow or he could leave the dungeon and get a red potion. In other words, hang in there and don't be a pussy about dying.
On that occasion it seemed that the writers had a clue!
>>4227861
>Shows the same game loop in each shot
>sound effects are either stock or from a very popular game that doesn't match the one they are playing
>game "footage" is generic CGI
>system is missing the cartridge
I used to watch a LOT of early 90s nick
>>4226351
8 seasons, 107 episodes. There's no chance of it getting a DVD release, as they used a crapload of footage from different IPs and the company lawyers would never sign off on it.
>>4227919
>>4226445
This sounds like a (badly written) creepypasta. Needs a little more "hyper realistic!!".

I forget if it was the same network, but Hanging with Mr. Cooper had that one episode where he and he kids broke into that cabin in the woods and started playing Super Mario World. I can't remember now if they showed an actual clip of the game but I sort of want to say yes.

>>4229474
why would you think that?
>>4229684
I read there was some cartoon that was rated YT or something that was prohibited from showing a lit candle because showing fire was dangerous. The logic was kids would see fire and imitate it and burn their houses down.
>>4226462

>>4227301
This. Cartoons didn't really improve graphics-wise, but vidoe games did. Unless they use videos of actual video games (which is usually copyrighted) they'd have to spend more resources making their video game parody than their actual cartoon.
Besides, modern cartoons love their outdated references. Just look at the Simpsons, most of their pop culture references are at least a year old (although admittedly they did manage to reference Pokémon Go this April). I'm still waiting for them to make a fidget spinner episode.
>>4228313
Was Matt Groening aware of this when he wrote that Futurama episode where exactly the same thing happened?
>>4229819
I don't think Matt Groening was aware of untranslated kids anime from 1978.
The most used tv sound effect for any generic door opening.
>>4229814
>Just look at the Simpsons, most of their pop culture references are at least a year old
You know that traditional animation takes at least a year to go from storyboard to television right? They probably make the "trendy" animations as soon as they can.
>>4230025
It's almost as if you shouldn't include things that might get dated in a few months in your cartoon, huh?
Also South Park is usually pretty close to the event itself, but obviously a South Park episode is made a lot quicker than a Simpsons episode.
>>4229905
It's a stock sound. It's like the Battlelord's sound from Duke Nukem 3D, it's a stock sound you can hear in tons of movies and series.
>>4228391
You realize Super Mario World had been advertised for a while and that Cape Mario was one of its most iconic things, right?
>>4230201
Anon, you took me seriously. You didn't even try to use the fact that the Japanese release date of World was in 1990. For shame.
>>4229767
Us Nes games came with a thin black plastic sleeve that covered 3/4 of the cartridge in an L shape
It was flimsy but tough as balls. I remember trying to rip one apart as a kid and being shocked at how tough the plastic was.
>>4229804
That's where it goes. Where do you put it?
>>4230424
For an SMS or an original Famicom, on your lap.
Johnny Test had a pokemon parody that actually referenced the fact that some pokemon evolved with high friendship.
>>4230025
>insert picture/webm of Simpsons new vs old show opening comparison here
I read they shit out episodes in as little as three months now. When most of the work is done on computers and has as little actual animation as they can get away with they can whip them out pretty fast.

I don't understand... both of those paths are fine I guess. If you kill Ganon then you win, and if you get a potion then it's not like you've thrown away your chance to kill Ganon in favor of getting a potion. He'll still be there when you return.
>>4228313
What show is this? I was born in '86 and I don't recognize it at all.
>>4228564
Everyone did this when I was a kid, it prevented the case from being lost. Now a days I have more games than cases, so if I'm playing a game with a case, I put it on one without a case.
