I'm trying Tactics out for the first time & got the resolution mod, but everything's so tiny considering my screen resolution of 2560x1600.

Is there any way I can double the dpi for the game or something like that? Also is there supposed to be a way to run it at higher resolutions in windowed mode, cuz it defaults to 800x600.

>>
>>3069604
I personally never use it because I enjoy eye and groin shots but I am definitely not a Fallout expert.
>>
>>3069604
Fast Shot is not overrated. It is just meant for a completely different playstyle or extreme late game in specific builds.
Yes, you probably want to play a Big Gunner with this trait. Aside from the usual creme de la creme bursters (Bozar, LSW, the miniguns), the Flamer and Rocket Launcher are very good for clearing out chunks of enemies either unarmored (Flamer) or armored (RL), and produce some really cool animations. You have some decent SMGs and autoshotguns for the transition period, so it is not bad early on, esp. since in the early game you can't aim much anyway. And since you're not aiming, you can put less points into your weapon skill.
Fast Shot is also a good trait to Mutate! into if you're a high luck character who already got their Sniper (and Better Criticals earlier, ofc) perk, because, in effect, it's -1 AP for free.
Fast Shot can be used for a very cheesy melee playthrough in FO1, because it lowers AP on melee attacks as well. 1 AP Super Sledge is really fun.
You can also play a Fast Shot/One Hander gunslinger who just spams Magnum/Gauss Pistol to enemy faces, which is fun for the imagery at the very least and is pretty okay. You really want some Luck though (but it's not like you need any stat other than Intelligence; everything else can be raised with drugs; get high PE, IN and LK and eat Buffout/Psycho for AG.).

Fast Shot can be pretty good. Just like Jinxed or Skilled can be, if you play for the strengths.

>>
>>3071376
I felt the same way too. Just power through the intro. Fallout 2 has higher high points and lower low points. Some of the quests are fantastic and others are busywork.
>>
>>3071376
2 is way more meandering. Fallout has a bunch of neat encounters that you do and you're done. Fallout 2 has a lot of attempts at long, sweeping quests that make various aspects of the game a chore.

It's basically like a flat bonus to your weapon skill for onehanders and a flat minus to your weapon skill for other things. If you're willing to spam % into guns anyway, it's not bad. FO1 has .223, Alien Blaster and FO2 adds Gauss Pistol to the mix, you won't fuck up.

She only picks like 2 locks in the entire game, I think. You have to attempt to lockpick yourself and she'll be like "Gimme that". Same with how Vic can repair stuff for you in FO2.

I played 2238 and Reloaded for a while but I'm not too happy where the game went after 2238, which was pretty much the best iteration of Fonline.

They basically did their best to get rid of everything that made Fonline fun and different from other MMOs, like stealing, tent following, sneak builds and the whole wasteland is harsh feeling.

It's just not the same when building your first tent isn't the hardest, most punishing task anymore and unique gear is just lying around everywhere.

Crafting bonuses and implants ruined Fonline (along with bots and hacks).

It was too rushed. Hollywood was so unfinished it was a wonder people could actually finish the game. The story was written by way too many people and it showed, some parts were okay (even great) and then some were pants on head retarded. Highpool's big twist was forcefed to you in the most amateurish fan-fiction way.
The rangers were unrelatable assholes as an organization. The way they just pretend they are the only valid road to survival and everyone not under their control desperately needs them was laughable.
Then there was the balance or lack thereof. Assault rifles ruled everything, with the exception of one energy weapon. Energy weapons' mechanic didn't make much sense as implemented and made it counter-intuitive to wear armor in the late game.
Too much focus on combat skills, non-combat skills split up arbitrarily to pad their numbers out (safecracking/lockpicking alarms/traps).
Initiative being the single most important combat stat was stupid too, it actually determined the number of turns you have instead of the order of it. A high initiative party just gets turn after turn while the enemy waits.

The director's cut then shat all over the UI and made it worse while didn't do much to fix the balance issues.
And I hated the new font.

So much wasted potential. I could live with the lack of stealth, the simplified combat and even the bad graphics/lack of customization. But there were just too many aggravating issues.

It's the definition of a dumbed down game. Even Oblivion had stats, attributes, and dungeons with multiple paths
>>
>>3092007
I don't remember any non-linear dungeons in Oblivion. On the other hand, I don't remember stats being all this relevant, meanwhile Skyrim actually brought in perks to actually choose one's own playstyle can you believe this? Perks in Skyrim.

Not really a fan of TES, but Skyrim was certainly an improvement. Multiple overlapping redundant mechanics is not something good.
>>
>>3092012
no
>>
>>3092012
I recall some dungeons I explored in Oblivion being like that. And the perks in Skyrim in my opinion were the worst part about leveling, like my heavy armor skill should go up by making it stronger, not just by picking perks. Looking at formulas that does happen, but the skill increase is so minimal that perks are a must. But there are some good perks to suit play styles, you're right, but just as much bullshit ones that should be more passive than granted by a perk.
>>
>>3092007
Let's not pretend Oblivion wasn't dumbed down to shit either. The level scaling was horrible and the quests weren't as good as people say either.

Low budget. inXile is a small studio, and 3 million dollars SOUNDS like a lot of money, for making a high quality polished game, it's very little (e.g. - original Psychonauts costed 15 millions to make). Like, that was the budget Fallout had - but that was in the 90s, making games has gotten significantly more expensive for dev studios. (Even if they were able to use Unity to save costs of making a new engine)
>>
>>3093412
The problem nowadays is that everyone is fucking obsesed with IT HAS TO BE HD AND HAVE REAL VOICE ACTING!
They should stick to mid-res textures and text only for the dialogue. That'd save a few million bucks.
>>
>>3093465
Unless your dev studio is in poland. In which case you can make Witcher 2 on psychonauts budget and Witcher 3 on 1/3 Fallout 4 budget.

1 Luck builds will roll critical fails 5% of the time. Adding Jinxed onto it almost assuredly causes high rolls on the critical fail table.
Weapon skill will play absolutely no part in either the chance to fail nor the damage/consequences resulting thereof.

>Weapon skill will play absolutely no part in either the chance to fail nor the damage/consequences resulting thereof.
You can only roll a critical fail if you miss, with firearms anyway

I found while playing a jinxed build (5-ish luck?) that increasing guns skill from 50% to 90% made the difference bewteen having a gun explode in your hands every 5 shots to occasionally dropping it or losing your currently loaded ammo every now and then

I can't handle time limits unless the gameplay is so engaging that I forget about them, something like ghouls and goblins for example. I like to fuck around a lot and get lost too. Maybe I should jump straight to the second one.
>>
>>3099278
play 2 then, no time limit.

Or play 1 and quickly realize how generous the time limit is.
>>
>>3099278
Time limit is a non-issue since time pretty much only moves when you travel between locations, and they're mostly self contained

What is an issue is being a giant pussy casul that can't play a game with time limits and probably can't even bhop in quake

it's 24 WIS to unmake yourself through sheer belief. I had 23 so I couldnt get that choice. Got all the others though. Soloing him was impossible, i tried lots of times but I just suck balls i guess. Even though I had level 8/9 spells. Took 5 seconds with the whole team. I still dont fully understand why he chose to be immortal. Something to do with regret.
