It matters because if you were around from the beginning, stuck around, and lived in a majority English speaking country then the US dub was what you were almost certainly first exposed to and what you grew up with.

I believe subs were around by the time of VA change, but I'm not sure how easy they were to access. Even if you could access them you still may not be interested or continue to watch the dub alongside the sub simply because it you'd already been watching it for years.

Next weeks episode is going to be the XY44 of SM, that first battle that really blows our fucking minds.

The animation looks incredibly fluid and the detail in the shots rivals the late Kalos fights. It's going to be phenomenal, Steelix looks like a fucking monster.

Is Since Team Rocket was called to Kanto because of Mattori their appearance next episode will likely be for not interfering with the fights but to speak to Giovanni. Hopefully, that is.

The worse thing was not that they relied on nostalgia, but they did the wrong kind of nostalgia. You're going to Oak's, where Ash has left a ton of Pokemon, many being fan favorites, and there is almost no moment for them. Time is wasted on gags that nobody really cared, like Brock being in love with some random woman in the airport (which would have been better if it had been someone relevant to the episode or whatever). It was just really badly made.

In the whole episode I felt like someone was pushing random buttons to make the audience feel nostalgic but didn't actually know how to actually do it.
