Feels like all the hard work I did during AG and DP, AG especially, defending May and later Dawn from rabid Misty fans has gone down the drain. They used to kept saying May was "weak or clueless" and Dawn was, "too girly or annoying" compared to Misty.

It's like they pulled every trick out of the book to champion Misty over them. The one thing that I always had was since Misty barely ever battled or won any battles in the show, I could always say she was generally poor at battling. Now I don't think I can say that anymore.

Well it makes sense in the games because USUM are separated into two versions similar to Ruby/Sapphire, Silver/gold, BW. In the anime, all pokemon live in the same universe so having two cosmogs becoming different legionaries is a possibility.

Iwane is god, but Nishitani is on an entirely different level that its scary. His episodes are both gorgeous and fluid. To compare him and Iwane look to the Kalos League finals, where part 1 was animated by Iwane and part 2 was animated by Nishitani.

The animation difference is almost scary with how much better Nishitani's work looks when compared to Iwanes - who is already a phenomenal animator.

TR interrupted, but Ash was on the verge of beating Misty anyway. Her Starmie looked like it was about to faint and it was losing energy. Remember Ash didn't even use Pikachu nor did he have the Kanto starters yet, and he pretty much trashed through Misty with a weak Pidgeotto and Butterfree that he only had for like 5 episodes at the time.

Which makes me wonder why people thought Misty was an experienced battler. She was literally barely above the level of rookie Kanto Ash.

It was a mess in general. He was originally supposed to get it for free because the actual Gym Leaders didn't feel like battling and assumed they'd lose anyway, was seemingly winning against Misty when she offered to battle in their stead even AFTER being saddled with a shitty "can't use Pikachu even though he meant to" handicap, then got the badge for having Pikachu save the gym when nobody else could, with an added statement that he'd obviously have fucking won if he had used Pikachu as intended.
