In the original series the clothes looked really stiff, and their shoulders didn't really slope that much, giving the characters a blocky square torso. Also, there were moments where they drawn their eyes too far away from each other. And the battles didn't have great animation, most of the backgrounds were just one colour with a bunch of stripes, and sometimes reused frames in battles.

Yes the neither SM or the OG series is perfect animation wise, but atleast when SM wants to look good, it looks good.

I just disagree with you, and I think the original series looks outdated.
