I greatly prefer the Original Ruby and Sapphire to Emerald. I don't like the new double battle thing with unrelated trainers, and feel that they cluttered the routes too much to compensate for it. I also hate how they removed there being a Legendary battle at the story's climax, hate how the final gym leader and champion are the same type, and think that the phone system is way too intrusive.

I've literally played every main series game at least one hundred times over, triple that for the pre-ds era due to emulation.

I constantly fall in and out of love with the series and am worried I'll burn out of it soon enough.

I spent 11 years on a Pokemon RP game growing up, and although I'm autistic for it it helped my writing ability improve drastically.

I was unknowingly a die-hard fan until Sun and Moon hit. They were so little fun, that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the first-ever Pokemon games I'm not at all hyped for.

Typically when new Pokemon games come out, I get both, for the sake of collection and exclusives. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the first games I'm not even considering buying at first. I'll pirate one of them when the inevitable two-weeks-early dump shows up on /vp/, and if they're any good, I'll buy one of them. I can't bring myself to buy both of them this time around.

I like competitive pokemon, but don't like battling competitively myself. I almost exclusively spectate. If I battle, it's usually with some theme/meme team so I don't feel bad if I lose. All in all, I get a tad nervous whenever I get into a multiplayer pokemon battle. This hasn't stopped me from giving pointers on competitive despite only spectating mostly.
I imagine some would see doing everything but issuing the commands as not enough of a basis for advice.

A similar thing for fighting games. I try not to use my main on human opponents so if I lose,
I feel like I wasn't going all out.

Because it has an enormous amount of Pokemon, and unlike XY, DexNav ensures you won't have to miss most of them. Soaring was a monumental addition, PSS was a great carryover. Secret bases are fun as hell. Battle Resort is loaded up with tutors. New megas and forms are interesting. The new and expanded areas are great.

I prefer Pearl to Platinum because pretty much none of the Platinum additions do anything for me. Teams are just as easy to faceroll. Distortion World is a drag. Platinum Frontier is a boring joke compared to the Emerald one. Few of the extra Pokemon in the regional dex are ones I particularly want to use. The speed improvement is negligible. Change in Gym order is whatever. Now you'd think I have no reason to like it any more or less but other than the introduction of Looker I actually prefer the story in DP, Charon is an awful addition and Cyrus is just pushed in your face more when his character is established fine already in DP. I prefer the way you get your starter, the bookends of first meeting and finally defeating Cyrus in Mt. Coronet, and Cyrus continuing to wander the earth leaves him as a greater future threat. The fourth lake really was a secret in DP. Also, I like how some areas look a lot more in DP, like Lost Tower. Platinum makes some nice aesthetic improvements but some, like that, are just overkill.

I am honest to god in love with Darkrai. M10 is my favorite Pokemon movie of all time because of him. No other character in the entire series has made me feel this way. His design is just way too fucking adorable.
I bought Y just so I could transfer my Darkrai there so I could play with him in Pokemon-Amie.

I really like Sun and Moon and most of the new pokemon designs are really cool (especially Dhelmise and Pallosand). I didn't like XY and ORAS was good up until the game forces you to finish the delta episode to access the end game. The delta episode was so fucking tedious. At least SM gives you the option (I still haven't finished it).

I hated Pearl/Diamond so much I couldn't get past the 7th gym despite 4th gen having my most favorite mons.

I liked B/W more than I like B2W2.

Citra is very easy to use. You download it from the main site onto your PC. Nightly build is the more stable but slightly slower version, Bleeding Edge is slightly faster but more likely to be unstable, both run pretty slowly in outdoors environments unless you have a very high-end PC.
Once you have the files, find and run Citra-qt, that's the emulator. Note that X and Y won't work without system files from an actual 3ds, and even then run very poorly on Citra with frequent crashes, freezes and a lot of bugs. ORAS and SM work perfectly fine besides the slower framrate I mentioned and a bug in SM that can be worked around.

My favourite Pokemon is Primarina, and my other favourite pokemon are either cute or feminine, like Gardevoir, etc. And it's kind of embarassing, because everyone on this board thinks you're a waifufag if you do. I don't have a waifu, and I don't fap to pokemon. I just think they're cool.

Also I really hate that no one IRL likes pokemon as much as I do. I've even tried going to my local pokemon league (TCG) but the attendance of pokemon players has gone completely, so I don't bother going now. All there is is the occasional tourney. Pokemon is my favourite franchise, and this board always talks about how much they hate it, or just being cancerous memelords. It just feels like a lonely hobby.

I like that Sun/Moon shows GameFreak is capable of handling character interaction but I'd like to see them expand on it.

I breed and train up competitively viable pokemon, but never go online and use them because I'm scared to lose.
I also love every pokemon game and get really passionate when I talk about the subject. At this point I avoid talking about it so I don't annoy people

I posted this in a /v/ confession thread recently so fuck it.

I have debilitating anxiety that I don't know how to handle, so to calm myself down/escape I've been regularly imagining an alternate life for myself based on the Pokemon universe for the past three years. Timeskips in this fantasy are common but for the most part I just imagine things going down in 1:1 time instead of doing real things with real people. I was finally ready to commit suicide a couple years ago until a starved cat that was obviously abandoned came to me for help. Since the local shelters had a reputation for putting animals to sleep way too early I had to make a hard choice, so I tossed my gun away and began to pick myself up, cumulating in moving back home to finally get a degree once a job I snagged sadly ended after a year at it.

I don't like living with my family or this area. It is the epitome of baby boomer republican paradise and wonders why EVERYONE under 65 moves away as they ship and vote off every potential job. With my car dead alongside being broke, it seems my nightmare of being trapped forever in this hell has come true.

But my cat is safe and happy. She's awesome. I got to unambiguously save a life so I can finally off myself when she passed away peacefully, hopefully years in the future. I had to make a hard choice and as miserable as *I* am, I cannot in good faith regret making it due to her.

Pokemon used to be one of my favorite franchises but I fell out of love with it when I started playing games that weren't on Nintendo systems. Now it's one of my least favorite monster catching games, barred those Chinese mobile apps.

I think the board quality would improve greatly if discussing Digimon, Monster Rancher, etc was allowed.

I like the "edgy" fangames more than the official stuff. I hate that every fangame inspired by the mainline series obsesses over getting badges though. It makes every fangame blend together.

I've got a really nasty vicious attitude towards Pokemon fans in general.

I genuinely hate fufags here and wish they would all leave even if this meant only like ten people were left. I admit jerking off to the girls but jerking off to the monsters is unforgivable. Celesteela's my favorite UB in terms of design, but not because it looks feminine. I like it more for how alien it looks. It's height, weight, face and overall appearance makes it more creepy than cute to me. Running into one of these IRL would be freaky as fuck.

On that note, I dislike it when artists draw Celesteela as a generic waifu, but if people draw it that way, then I won't be stopping them from doing that.

I was super into the cards as a kid and only started playing the games relatively recently as an adult, starting with Alpha Sapphire. I also have collected a lot more cards.

I think I have Aspergers but my parents never tested me as a kid (they thought about it though) and it's not the kind of thing I feel would be worth getting tested for as an adult.

It feels like I'm falling entirely out of love with this series, I wanted so badly to like sun/moon but never have I been more let down with a game, I couldn't even finish it and dropped it by the 5th trial. The mystery dungeon games are also disappointing now but I haven't given the newest game a shot, the mechanics and everything seem so different and off. I'm usually a disgusting preorderfag exclusively with mainline pokemon games but this time I just can't bring myself to care about usum at all and probably won't even try to pirate it. I'm not into the competitive scene or the tcg so I honestly only hang around vp out of habit at this point.
