Judging from this, and how early ash got dusk form Lycanroc. It's not even the shillmon. It's more of a starrator, goodra. Trust me on this one. We got filler episodes coming right after it's evolution. That on it's own should tell you something about the third form.

We should probably keep our eyes on the owl, it's the only one out of Ash's team that didn't get a focus episode yet. And I think that's for a good reason. They are hiding something big about the owl that we might not know about.

Not sure if you're joking but this is actually my opinion. These 'edgy' battles were more interesting to me. Everyone and their moms here like to shit on the Kalos League but to me Ash vs Alain and Ash vs Shota were hype AF. Ash vs Clemont, Ash vs. Olympia, even Ash vs. Viola were also hype as shit to me. Especially after a disappoint BW it was so nice to have the anime again with a competent Ash who is passionate about battling and winning and nothing else. DP is arguably the best series so to have him regress to BW Ash sucked but XY Ash felt like the comeback of the DP Ash which was great. I thought he was gone for good but it was great to see him back in action with a fully evolved team. Sure XY had its flaws especially later on with the league but it was still entertaining to watch and the Team Flare arc is the best villain arc they've done so far. Plus Ash did really well in the league, coming in in second place without even using reserves.

You gotta admit that the three of them look drastically different from how they've always looked. Especially Jessie looks 'uglier' with the eyes, chin and longer face . James's and Ash's hair especially look different than in previous series. Plus Ash got top 2 because he sweeped entire teams with just Greninja and defeated Megas with 'regular' pokemon like Hawlucha.
