alright bros, why do people online keep insisting that Golem is good?

I have a 100% Golem with 2x Rock moves and, at 2500 pl, it gets smoked in no time against legendaries, whereas Tyranitars seem to have a much better bulk.

Is maxing out golems really worth it or is it just a meme (like Gengar) and I should just invest in another Tyranitar instead?

Goddamn, the next few weeks are going to be brutal. On the plus side, at least I have enough rare candies and TMs to spare. Still considering whether or not it's worth the trouble to move change my dual ground Golem (already maxxed out my dual rock one).

If there's one thing I think they should implement is other players' avatars appearing in the overworld, MMORPG style. That way this flawed raid system of gambling off your Raid Pass to stand in an empty lobby for an hour and a half would stop. Imagine being able to see 5-6 people clustered around a legendary raid. Would probably make the game even laggier but I wouldn't mind as long as I'm not wasting Raid Passes anymore. The system in place right now could only come from the sick-fuck mind of Hanke.

Some people sit around in range of the gym in their cars, so it's often hard to tell if they're there for the raid or if waiting to pick someone up or something. Also tinted windows, people who live next to a gym and play from indoors, and spoofers who obviously can't be seen in person. One time we had a 6 man Raid team waiting to take on an Articuno and even though no one else showed and we doubted we could beat it, we decided to try it anyway because a couple of us had already used our Passes. But when we got in the lobby there were 9 people and we beat it.

Another idea I had awhile back was for a sort of gym beacon, like an 80 coin item you can use so that other players can see a gym flashing from, say, double the distance. This would have been more useful with the old gym system but it would still be really helpful for Raids right now. I'm trying to be clearer, let's say a gym disappears from view when you're .75kms away from it. If you used this hypothetical item, a player 1.5km away can see the gym sending out a beacon signal.

Guys the way I see it would be very hard to raid an articuno if I keep being local so I was planning to spoof to chicago or something and join some random one. Now it is not that I never spoofed but I just did it locally, and by no more than 5km from home, to spin stops mostly. I read that if i wait 2hs I could spoof from wherever but I kind of see it like a meme since all of the sudden I would be more than 3000km from home and all my catchs would reflect that and sooner or later be banned. So is it worth the risk, would a USA vpn help?.

for lugia get a raid group, try facebook, you'll need a lot of people like 12-20 and you wont really do much at all, just go into the rad with everyone and dodge a lot and if lugia is defeated you'll have a chance to catch it.

but basically you should focus on leveling up to 30, at least get to like 25 and the game will be much more participatable for you.

Tyranitar with Bite/Crunch or SE is the best, if lugia doesn't have hydro pump. same with rock/rock golem. if it does have hydro pump, Bite/Crunch gyrados is pretty great. electric types (jolteon, ampharos, magneton) and ice/ice mons (lapras, articuno, etc.) are decent too.
then again, all this perfect planning will be worthless if you have 20 people and you win easily. it will also be worthless if you have teammates using blissey, other lugias, other stupid crap or are below lvl 15, since even a perfect team on your part can't carry them all.

I think this might have to do with a lot of players not having their Ice medal maxed to gold whereas most everyone has Flying/Psychic medals maxed for good. I'm 1/2 on Lugia and 1/4 on Articuno, and my Ice type medal is Silver. It's so hard to max that medal out since most Ice types in Gen 1 are pure Water before evolving, like Seel, Shellder, etc.
