No, it's the most fluid the series has ever looked. Style wise it is terrible. There is a difference between stills and animation. Art style was, the XY series is the best the series has ever looked and there are hundreds of stills and stitches from episodes that prove my point. The amount of care and creative liberties the animators had for the locations in the Kalos region is honestly astonishing. There was so much detail to every little thing it's like what the fuck. We don't get that kind of visual fidelity in SM because Ash and co's movements are restricted so important areas and cities don't get any sort of love.

But yes, the most fluid series is SM, but it still looks like ass.

I'd much rather have expressive, affective animation than have every frame of a series look deliberate and intricately detailed -- you usually can't have both unless you have a massive budget, and I think consistent, fluid animation is more visually interesting (and it lends itself better to visual storytelling) than more static, good-looking (for lack of a better word) animation.

The expressions are better elaborated depending on each movement in the time. There are more detailed.
The best thing about it is to appreciate each movement and expression in detail in his time respective in the animation
However, the jumps in animation time is when you most miss the expressions, plus the low quality is influenced.

If what you mean is that all anime has product tie-ins, I mean, yeah, I guess maybe generally speaking, but 1) I wouldn't really consider, say, blu rays or DVDs or the media itself to really be a product distinct from the series itself, and 2) even assuming all other anime has some sort of affiliated merch (which is dubious) there's a world of difference between a series literally being an advertisement for toys and games and a series having some, say, licensed shirts or keychains or something.

The problem with Z moves is that the build up time is so fucking long it slows down the battle, and the animators love to over use stock footage for them. Just not as hype as it should be. Their implementation into the anime has been poor.
