But then the "Bone Keeper Pokémon" Garagara shows up and steals the crown.

SM35 - A Curry-zy Beautiful Battle! The Dance of Rarantes!! (July 27th)
>As part of an extracurricular lesson, Satoshi and his friends are made to gather the ingredients for "Alola Curry", a traditional Akalan dish. They encounter all kinds of difficulties, but still somehow manage to gather the ingredients. And then a Rarantes shows up and challenges Satoshi to a battle.

SM36 - Lychee's Grand Trial! The Hardest Pokémon Match Ever!! (August 3rd)
>Satoshi has finally become able to challenge the Grand Trial of Lychee, Island Queen of Akala Island. The Grand Trial against Lychee is a double battle. Satoshi decides to take her on with Mokuroh and Iwanko. Lychee uses Rock type Pokémon, and just toys around with him using tricky tactics and Lugarugan's overwhelming speed and power.

So apparently for Movie 20 the writers were considering bringing back every old companion before they decided on the current script for Movie 20 as AU of Ash's story?

How would that even work? You'd have 15+ characters in the movie and most of them would barely get any screentime. And Kaori largely retired from VA so unless they recast May she wouldn't be used. I can see why the writers axed the idea.

We don't know that, there's a whole lot of SM to go. Why does it bother you so much that I'm referring to a pairing that's been lightly, but irrefutably teased twice in the anime? It's not like stalebaiter, who actually reached to hell and back to push his inexistent ship. This was explicitly teased twice (so far) by the writers. Lana and Lillie were a mistake.

At least Amourshipper will never turn out like Pokeshippers. For one thing:

1. Amour/Serena got a decent ending. Serena kissed Ash and was confirmed endgame by Yajima. Misty on the other hand left without a confession or kiss or anything, then was shown to have nothing toward Ash in AG because the writers killed off the ship.

2. Pokeshippers had 15 years of butt-hurt and delusionment of Misty returning to the anime. Most people know Serena won't be part of the cast again, but could appear sometime eventually one more time.

3. Misty/pokeshipping happened when most people were kids, so as kids we don't have rational judgement and it wrongly imprinted on people. That's why they're obsessed with Misty to this day


Just think, will Amour/Serena fans ever have their "Movie 20" breakdown in another 10 years?
