With the way SM is being handled now, the Ultra Beasts and Lusamine are going to be toned down to the point where I just don't want them anymore. This ensemble cast kinda makes development for the characters feel even slower than other pokemon series. Hopefully it picks up eventually.

It seems like it could have decent battles given it's move set and body type, really we need to see the fight between it and Charizard to get a full glimpse at it's possibilities.

I think it's going to be similar to Greninja, while its a semi-popular Pokemon, once the anime starts involving it and giving it fights that popularity will increase quite a bit.

Greninja was popular in XY, but when XYZ and AshGreninja became a thing it's popularity skyrocketed like crazy. Bringing it into tiers with Charizard and Lucario.

I doubt Inciniroar will become one of the holy trinity, but it could become a popular Ashmon similar to Infernape.

If during the UB arc Greninja doesn't return, Ash is going to need a fully evolved Pokemon to fight them. I know you have a massive hate boner for Inciniroar, but it's a Pokemon that fits Ashs fighting style, and given Littens background as wanting to become stronger and able to protect what it cares about. It'll go the entire way.

Rowlet I still figure out if it's going to evolve.

If it evolves it loses the ability to be a comfy birb and be carried around in Ashs backpack, by Mallow and others because it grows in size and would ultimately be confined to a Pokeball. I think it's going to the be the Piplup of this Gen which is 100% okay with me given how it's a competent fighter without evolving.

I feel like Inciniroar will be given a fight style thats a hybrid of Shota's Sceptile and Infernape. Fast and strong, but again until we get a video of the fight of it against Charizard in the movie it's hard to tell how it's completely animated in the movie.

It has the same bulk as Inciniroar but it was a cool as fuck battler, I imagine that Inciniroar will be similar to it. Decidueye isn't really an "Acemon", but again just like Inciniroar until we see it animated and fighting in battle it's hard to properly judge these things.

Rockruff and likely Lycanroc is going to fulfill the role of the claw/biting mon if it evolves into Sun form, or if the possible 3rd form is on all fours.

Rowlet is Ashs flier and ranged Pokemon.

Pikachu is a mixed battler, close range and distance.

Inciniroar will likely be, again, similar to Infernape with CQC and a single ranged attack. You say it's a boring battle style, but it's literally the same fighting style as Sceptile, Greninja, and Infernape. Ash most exciting to watch Pokemon battle.

You seem to be forgetting all of it's important fights.

And for the Lycanroc/Torracat thing, there's no point in having 2 similar fighters when they want to diversify Ashs Pokemon from eachother.

Lycanroc has Bite, Rock Throw, and likely Accel Rock if it evolves into Midday, and then you throw in another physical move like Slash or something.

Torracat is the exact same.

It'd evolve so Ash has a mon that can use it's hands and fists. It'd basically be a Fire Type Electivire. Fast and Bulky and does a shit ton of damage.

Decidueye also feels like it'd be a pain in the ass to animate and limited in what it can do. But again, until we see it animated its hard to tell.

Rowlet has shown no drive towards evolving or getting stronger as it's content to stay comfy and sleep. It's the opposite for Litten who actively pursues getting stronger. All the signs point to Inciniroar, especially with it being showcased in M20.

Aerial Ace was punches and kicks, that's indisputable. Cut was a mix of slashes and punches, only driving the edge of the blade into its opponent rather then its fist.

That's false, Rowlet sleeps because it likes to. That's it's entire gimmick, it's always sleeping. During the day, during the evening, during the night. It sleeps. Rowlet also hasn't shown interest in evolving, whats been shown is that Rowlet, despite its sleepy nature, has the ability to become a strong fighter. It's speed, but more importantly as shown in its debut episode and against Hala and Totemgoose, the power in its legs. Also, it has Leafage, which if Ash gets the Grassium Z would give it the ability to use Bloom Doom instead of Spirit Shackle.

But then again, there is the chance that Ash gets both Inciniroar and Decidueye, so who knows.

Does somebody want to explain why I should give a shit about this feather or any of the rest of it if it's all an alternate universe anyways? Why should I believe that this has any bearing whatsoever on the universe we all know? Also, something more important to note is how neither Inciniroar or Decidueye are near as popular as Greninja even before it got it's big showcase in the anime. In the end which ever Pokemon gets the showcase in the anime, Inciniroar or Decidueye, will be the next Pokemon to take the spotlight in SM. With the Inciniroar push in M20 it gives credibility to the idea that Inciniroar will be Ashs future mon.

I personally believe it'll be Inciniroar, given reasons I've listed earlier. But if it's Decidueye then I'm fine with that. Although I do hope it's not Rowlet who evolves because I love that smushy birb.

Rola suffers from what most of the Stars cast suffers from, a lack of development. Aside from their introduction arcs, Stars hasn't been about becoming better idols or learning how to be idols, the girls have all been equipped with the skills from the start. Akari was a shitter when she first joined the cast, and was a shitter for quite a while until she started getting good with all of her training. From her first audition, she was a character who made you want to route for her because you could see she was doing her best.

Rola though, was a knock off Ran who unfortunately didn't get the kind of attention that Ran did. Rola started off aloof from Yume, but quickly took to her and became a fan girl. When Rola had her aura blown away by Yume in that one competition, that was the beginning of the end for her. She was completely destroyed. Yume doesn't use her rainbow mode anymore so whenever her and Rola face off she's never at full strength. Stars suffers from a lack of actual idol activities and jobs and focuses to much on Yume as dumb as it may sound.

I wish Stars had been about Hime and OGS4 rise to power, with Yume and co eventually getting a role similar to Akari as the 2nd protaganists.

The Movie is an Alternate story re-telling of Satoshi's adventures.

Understand it in no way, will change the anime and doesn't have Kasumi, Takeshi or previous companions in any part of it but the credits end because they want to establish this isn't the Satoshi everyone grew up with. It's a nice idea because this Satoshi could now be seen as Sun and Moon's Satoshi.

Remember Dragon Ball GT and how they made the anniversary movie Path To The Power which played out like the anime but had differences like Goku's GT gi, and the story changing to a new take on the red ribbon saga even having the Dragon Ball GT theme song.

This movie is Pokemon's version of Path To Power.

I heard XY was fantastic but had a crappy ending. Does SuMo improve on it at all or is it about the same/worse?

Particularly, what's the animation quality like? I've seen some impressive gifs but not sure how consistent it is.
