I took the gym after the egg showed up so I guess it's a bug where it doesn't count for Control if you take the gym after the egg shows up.

There's a bug in gyms where if you just kill one Pokémon without continuing, you are error'd out until you attack another gym. It's really fucking stupid.

Well long story short, I did what that anon did and posted in the thread, 2 or 3 threads ago, I did 2 FUCKING RAIDS in one day with just 2 regular raid passes that are not premium after I was done with the first raid and kept spinning stops and then realized I have to spin a gym, did that got a second free regular raid pass and participated in a second raid with these like high school kids for a magikarp and they couldn't believe me when I showed them my first raid boss I captured because the exeggutor that I caught was the one say saw down the street as the raid boss, besides the magikarp we all captured. This all happened in the span of 1 hour like 30 mins ago, does this mean I have to wait tomorrow to pick up another regular raid pass from a gym?

The game considers these events a time stamp: gymming, spinning, catching, berrying. If you teleport and do any of the four too soon after teleporting, you'll be softbanned. Not terrible, but annoying. Don't bot ever, shadow banning is a big red flag and it'll happen if you bot.

It's more that it's much easier to build a gym instantly but overall, its defensive power is shittier than before.

Before:
- Can't put in more than 3 Pokemon before needing to spend time and effort prestiging. Defensive strength is about 5-6 fights' worth after initial 3.
- Maximum ~50 fights to tear down a lv 10 gym.
- Can put in Pokemon while under attack.
- A Pokemon's lifespan is dependent on how much prestige the gym had and the Pokemon's placement.
- Pokemon in a stable gym can stay there indefinitely.
After:
- Can shove in all 6 Pokemon in at once. Defensive strength goes from 0 to 36 fights instantly.
- Can't put in Pokemon while under attack.
- Maximum 36-40 fights to tear down a maxed out gym.
- Every Pokemon no matter what (e.g. 10 CP Pidgey) has minimum 6 fights before getting kicked out.
- Pokemon in a stable gym require constant upkeep to stay.

They basically took out a lot of tedium and also casualised the gyms so that more people can shove mons in instead of looking at a lv 10 stable gym and sighing that they'll never get a spot because they'll just get kicked out immediately by a multi-account player.

To add onto this, Dragon BREATH Gyaradoses were really good for the same reason. So launch Gyaradoses never mattered which quick move they got, just that they didn't get Twister (which got upgraded to have really nice DPS now).

Sadly it's a legacy move now so Bite is the best you'll get until the next balance change.

Now that I think about it, I guess this means Dragon Tail replacing Dragon Breath was Niantic's way of nerfing Gyaradoses a bit on the vs dragon type front because Twister was buffed a lot. "Balance".

Just got back to this game, stopped around Gen 2 release. Gyms look fairly easier now, like easy to get one, easy to lose it as well. The raid thing seems very interesting and we can finally try our luck at moves with TMs from said raids. My biggest concern is all this lag, is this normal for their shit servers or am I getting cucked by signal/phone compatibility. It's not like it's old, it's a sony Z3. It really puts me off from battles, life/charge bars keep getting back in time, dodge seems useless since I can't even tell when something is coming out.

Obsolete term. In the old gyms there were 10 levels, one poke per level. Levels were added/deleted by the amount of prestige points.
And the whole point of battling an enemy gym was to lower prestige, thereby knocking down a level and a poke with it.

However, to add your poke to a friendly gym you had to add prestige by also battling the defenders. This is where prestigers came in. The thing about prestigers is that they needed to line up against each defender to be super effective against them but they also needed to be low cp because the greater the cp gap between prestiger and defender, the more prestige point you were able to add to a gym.

One example of a prestiger is Jynx. With two ice moves and its impressive bulk, it could effectively prestige against a dragonite even if it was low cp.

Old gyms had highest cp pokes as the last battle, therefore they were longest lasting in a gym. Now, its by order they were dropped in, and anyone can take down a 3k anything with a medium effort. It used to take hours to solo a level 10 gym.

It's not a bug, you can take control of the gym when the raid egg is there. You just need to log out and log into the app for it to register.

You do not have to use the regular raid pass on the day you recieve it.

The game is programmed to give you a raid pass automatically on the 2nd day after you use up the previous saved raid pass.

Once again, you cannot stack normal raid passes (unsure about Premium passes) however you can organise using them so that you can get two tries at raids during a day - which is perfect for those who are concerned about missing out on a legendary egg or simply waste a raid pass on something else only to find something they desperately need has a raid later.

It's pretty nice how this recent update increased the activity again.

Today I actually met an old primary school friend again. We fought a raid boss today and he started a whatsapp group so we could work together with others to fight against bosses more often. I did have to restrain myself not calling him Nuck because he was wearing a Trainer Tips shirt...but he's kind so I'm not going release /pgg/ cancer towards him.

Went to a raid last night around 7:30-ish. Park is usually pretty dead around that time, but there were about 5 other people sitting there waiting for the raid to start. We fucked that Flareon up in less than a minute. Feels good, man.

The pass remains valid for that specific raid until you win it, or until the raid ends. You can't take the loss and try somewhere else which is annoying.

The real issue is that once you've beaten a raid, you're not allowed to take part in it again at all. You should at least be allowed to do this to support people who showed up to the raid late, because once most people have attended the raid and won, they can't help the people who showed up later in fewer numbers.

I'm capable of evolving a Blissey, Porygon2, Pupitar and Tyranitar but I'm holding off for the moment, like having more candies or a better candidate for evolving.
Porygon2 is a special case of waiting for Porygon-Z though.

Ampharos is the one I genuinely need more candies for though, I should get Mareep as my buddy as I'm good on Larvitar candies now. Just need to raid a Tyranitar, and evolve one Pupitar.

Seeing as berries are a resource you can only get from Poké Stops, the number you need to feed a Pokémon to refill their CP/motivation is too many.
They should max berries more effective, but allow you to use fewer of them to balance it out. I've already used up 191 berries from not very many gym visits.
I really regret tossing 120 razz berries to make space on Friday.
