Funny thing is, I caught a 2600 CP Snorlax while sitting there waiting for it to start.

from the previous thread, here's the magicarp i caught from the difficulty 1 gym. IVs are 66-80 (too lazy to get more precise). I'm guessing they're int he same range as egg IVs.

I literally have 0 raids around me in my town of 12,000 people.

So gen3 drops and all pokemon get a default ability like at the games. For the HA you need to have luck when hatching them.
Also, you have now 4 stats, HP,atk,def and speed. Meaning you need 4x 15 for 100%

Prestige is gone, now you battle to lower individual "motivation"

High cp mons will lose motivation a lot quicker than lower cp.

Lapras' power was destroyed a while ago. While still strong, its pretty easily defeatable.
Arcanine's was lowered almost as soon as you stopped playing lmao

To battle in a raid, you will be notified of one, or you can look for one in the sightings tab. There will be an egg with a timer in a gym, you will not know what the mon is until in hatches. After it hatches, you will see what it is, how strong it is, and how many players its recommended you fight with.
You will have an hour after it hatches to join the battle.

After defeating the raid boss, you will have a chance to capture one of the same mon. You will also get golden berries (stronger razz) rare candy, and tm's.

Yeah, the game is honestly pretty shit.

I did, unlike most people apparently, like the old gym system. Sure some pokemon where too common (dragonite, blissey, tyranitar) but if you played GSC against other players most people had them on their team so "gym variety" never really made sense to me since pokemon never had variety back in gen 1 and 2.

I really liked the real time combat pokemon go had and how prestigers made most pokemon kinda useful and how cannonfodder made all pokemon at least usable.

I really like the concept in theory. Unfortunately, the number of gyms in my area doesn't support it. Add in a major inbalance in factions and it's just frustration incarnate. You read the text I linked to, yes? A raid is a multi-player battle against a random crazy strong poke. Their CP can go from like 5000 cp up to 20k or more.

Motivation is what you aim to lower when you battle a gym. Each poke has an individual motivation meter that, when depleted, will get them kicked out of the gym. You can raise motivation back by feeding them berries.

Youre complaining about the separate issue of spoofing/botting.

The gym system now allows solo players to take down gyms without it being a massive rescource dump or time waste.

Everyone saying "fuck that" to level 10 gyms everywhere caused the drop in slots. Gyms stagnating perpetually caused the motivation meter. CP meta bullshit (even dispite x4 weaknesses) cause the species rule. And the 50 coin rule was caused by the gym cartels that plauged so many areas, where you were either a 30 coin avg on your best days or cpnstantly held 15+ gyms. And even that was just a combination of shaving, spoofing, botting and so on.

Depends. Cp above 3000 lose motivatipn faster, which could be a boon if you dont want your mons stuck in limbo forever (at least it might give some people ideas to attack after a bit).

Most effective building strategy ive seen is a tank up front, then like 2 or 3 moms in the 2200-2500 range that are decent, after that just whatever. Makes it where the gym looks weak, but the high teir front end will make sure you probably stick around a couple hours if you arnt somewhere crazy volitile.
