Just got home from destroying a Level 4 Boss. Got awarded 11 Golds, 3 Charged TMs, 3 Rares and a 89% Charizard with around 70% Mystic participation. One of my group got a perfect Zard. All in all a fine group effort.

Question for those who have done raids:

I know you can only use premier balls on the raid Pokemon, but do they stack? Like let's say raid #1 gives you 6 and you use 2, then raid #2 give you 5. Do you now have those 5 plus the leftover 4 from raid #1?

Just did my first raid, it was a 2 star 12000cp exeggutor so I just solo'd it as no one else was around.It's the middle of the day on saturday and the gym isn't on the usual PoGo route in my town, I didn't even get a notification for it. Beat it with an 1800 houndoom and 2 2k flareons, only reason any of them died was due to no warning of the imcoming solar beam nuke.

Got 4 rare candies for beating it, caught it first premier ball with a normal razz, 12/14/15 IVs (91%) with bullet seed and solar beam.

Kinda hoping for a croconaw one to start, I still haven't gotten a totodile with IVs above 70% and Feraligatr is my favourite gen 2 starter.

Just caught a 100% IV Eevee. How can I choose what to evolve it into?

It seems the framework for PvP is basically set (6 vs 6, new battle screen).

I'm guessing the last hurdle is deciding how close to someone you have to be to battle. My guess is you'd both have to be in distance of the same pokestop.

My first an only raid so far was a 2 star exeggutor raid, 91% IVs with max stamina.

It's on par with my other eggmen but this is my first double grass one with solar beam so I was happy, if nothing else the 3 rare candies and 3k exp for about 4 minutes effort was worth it and I got a usable pokemon.

Afterwards I was approached by an actual 10yo child who started excitedly talking to me about how amazing this new feature was, which already got me questioning what kind of person I am if I play this game, and to make matters worse, somehow my parents also just happened to pass by and see me talking to this prepubescent child.

I just got back from a 17k Arcanine raid, and due to technical issues (which this game is), I couldn't get to join in with other players and had to solo it.
My 2600 Golem and 3000 Gyarados couldn't solo it, in three minutes I only got it down to 2% health. You're allowed to try again if you fail though.

Spin a gym stop. One free one every day.
After it hatches, you have an hour to kill it. Most people who participate will be fighting it as soon as it hatches though so while you don't need to be there before hatching to participate, you might need friends to help you.

Spin the photo disc at the gym. You can still do this whilst you haven't cleared the gym raid.

Once you've beaten the gym raid, you cannot interact with the gym at all until it's over, even if you want to spin the photo disc.

Clearing a gym raid awards a significantly high number of gym badge XP, enough to go from new badge to bronze badge.

If you had a free raid pass from the previous game and use it, you can still collect a new raid pass in the same time by visiting a gym.

Raid bosses appear to always be level 20, same as other egg hatches.

Forgot to mention, when a group forms to participate in a raid, it can create a public room by default with a password like bulbasaur bulbasaur bulbasaur, or bulbasaur bulbasaur squirtle, bulbasaur bulbasaur charmander, etc.

These rooms are public and you don't seem to need to enter a password to join it, which means spoofers can and will be able to participate in raids.

At my first raid today, there were six people including myself who showed up, but eight people in the raid group. Either one or two people were a bit farther away, or they were spoofing.

What'll end up happening is people will outright ignore the low level raids and play "wait and see" with the hatch results. People are only going to be interested in getting rare Pokémon they wouldn't find otherwise, or getting exclusive items.

At the end of my level 3 Arcanine raid I got 4 rare candies and 20 revives. Like fuck you I discard revives all the time because they clog up inventory.

From what I can tell, from a solo point of view, the rewards are pretty static across difficulty levels and I don't see a reason to participate in harder raids if the rewards are pretty much the same.

The thing is that it wasn't a lie. I got into the waiting lobby 3 times, I selected my team, and then as soon as the battle begun I immediately got an error and forced back to the screen where it asks if I want to spend the pass. I figured maybe my GPS was acting up so I closed the game down and reopened, and then after that it was prompting me to buy a pass because I used one up. I tried spinning the gym again but I didn't get any second pass.

It's been weird ever since raids came out. I could be standing literally right on top of a gym but then have to cancel out and reenter because I was apparently too far away to initiate.

Gym battles are fucked, things like charge meter and damage dealt keep jumping up and down, Pokémon you switch out, switch back out and then out again, etc.

When I went to participate in two raids today, I joined the groups but as soon as the battle started I got "Error" and didn't actually start battling.
That shit meant I couldn't actually take part in the raid, or at least with that group and was forced to solo it.

On the second raid in particular I tried starting the battle like six fucking times and it wouldn't work. I didn't get it to work until I restarted my fucking phone.
It was a 17k Arcanine, and 180 seconds wasn't enough to finish it, I got it down to like 1-2% health.
Luckily for me on the second attempt, someone else wandered along and joined though I never saw them.

Also, the fact that you're forced to wait 120 seconds on every time you attempt to start a raid. You can't say you're ready to start or just start if it's you alone or if it's a private group. I was stuck standing out on a narrow street outside a pub for about half an hour trying to make this work.

What level do you gotta be for raids?

This update completely changed the colors in my town. Although gyms come and go fast, now my town is mostly yellow. And before this, I hadn't seen any Instinct in weeks. It was 80/20 Mystic/Valor.

My motivation to play has been sapped. Raids blow unless they're high level and it's hard to get spoofers to help if they're actively playing halfway across America, plus no one else around me plays.
Passes you buy don't actually last all day, just for another raid, which you can lose and waste a pass on.
