Using a lot of switches sounds like an awesome idea. My deck right now is Darkrai x2, Mew, Cobalion, Leafeon, and Venusaur/Trevenant. I switch between the last two. I've made it up to 2600 with it so far. Most fun I've had playing this game yet

Kinda disappointed I didn't get any new ex's from 30 tickets, but none of the new ones look like they'll be any good after the next gym anyway, maybe seismitoad if any good poison mons come up eventually.

Noivern is a really great defender when it's evolved. Hurricane essentially becomes a Blue attack since only 4 star Purples can beat it and 110 damage is pretty solid with Moltres, Zapdos, and Gyarados everywhere. But the trick is to actually get Noibat to evolve first and a 20 white attack that takes up a third of the wheel is extremely shitty

Yeah it really sucks, 30 would make it so much better. X Attack would put it at 50 making it possible to beat Deo S and Mew. If you're willing, sacrificing a hurdle jump or goal block for Desperate times would almost gurantee an evolution. The Pokémon in the deck already have a ton of mobility

Rare Crawdaunt could have been a useful partner for Greninja with Crabhammer and that ability in a Water/Dark deck that runs Dark energy, Sharpedo not so much

Scep is better if you're fighting deo decks a lot. Obviously an evolved Scep is stronger but you're never getting the evo vs deo and it'll be difficult even in normal games if the opponent is smart at picking matchups

Can someone give me a quick rundown on the current meta? Haven't changed my league deck or fought a real human since pre-terrakion.

I can definitely see Poison Decks on the rise thanks to Seismitoad having an auto-poison ability, which is something Venusaur and Crobat needed to function without Crobat acting like a kamikaze

The best decks right now are probably tropical and deoxys. Tropical is more consistent than Deo but both are pretty prevalent. Dark Energy isn't used much since most of the dark figures are shit in this meta and Tropical Energy tends to make Deo manageable enough. It seems unlikely that the new water banner figures will make a big dent in the meta although some poison decks with Seismitoad or freeze decks with Suicune or dual Suicune could see a little play. Twin Dragons and Water decks are shit against Deo but decent vs everything else, probably tier 2 if Tropical and Deo are Tier 1.

And for reference most tropical decks include the 3 staples for fighting Deo:

>Mew
>Zapdos

And then there are a bunch of flex slots just for the heavy hitters, more flying/grass types, etc. Common picks are Karpdos, Moltres, Terrakion, Heatran, Virizion, Phantump/Trevenant (Phantump disables cosmo energy and evolved Trevenant's purple is a fucking nightmare to fight).

Here's an album of some of the top teams on ladder from last month. These were taken during the period between the Rock gym and Dark gym so it showed the league teams instead of gym teams at that point:

Gold, Insta kill purple and a potential 100 attack isn't too bad but I don't think it justifies having a miss slice that size.

I really liked corpishs ability but his wheel is too weak for when I didn't want to use his ability. I'm glad to see it on crawdaunt since his wheel is better now but fucking christ. Dude is like 0-6 since I've started using him, and he's lvl5. So disappointing, might have to switch him out.

It's good for the most part I think. It's essentially chess with a few more layers added on so if you like strategic games, I highly recommend Duel. If you get easily frustrated with RNG, this game probably isn't for you.
If you do decide to start playing, just know you won't actually be battling a real person in League battles until your rank is 1500.

I like Goal Block a lot though. I know people think it's shit but it allows you to be a lot more aggressive in the midgame and defend your goal with only 1 mon instead of 2 as long as you have the plate active

I'd say Mew, Zap, and Deo-a are the big three right now. Secondarily Sceptile, Verizion, and Terrakion are potent. Of course Magikarp>Gary is popular right now too. Moltres sees play as a Zap counter. Other than that most other Ex's are deck reliant or just bad.
