That's not true, it just doesn't show the hundreds of JP while you're into the hundred thousand. If you click on the JP in your pond, it'll show the full number. You might show equal JP, but have a few hundred more than your opponent.

It's possible that opponents always have even number JP, so if you have 515,001 JP you'll beat the 515,000 JP opponent.

I fell for the fucking Charizard meme. Theoretically it's worth it because of the items, but you just end up getting a training bottle (worth 8.33 diamonds) every 12 hours as opposed to Popplio which gives you either 14 diamonds every 12 hours or a combination of diamonds and gold.
