I wanna get into Pokémon cards. What packs should I start with?

I think evolutions is a dope set. It has a bunch of cards from the base set or original cards.
Get Steam Siege, Generations and Sun and Moon boosters, a shit ton if you like opening packs. Best way is to buy cards individually online but if you've got the money just buy shit loads of booster boxes, its nice to have a large collection of cards to experiment with.

Try the PTCG General...>>32582400

You will never get all those rare cards from years back, why even live?

And for collectors its just nice to fill in empty spots sometimes

If you plan on playing the game. Buy individual packs

Then look for nerd game stores near you faggot. Literally google "Game stores near me".
I found several through google alone.

A theme deck or two are good for getting staple cards. There's a Keldeo vs Rayquaza deck set released a few months ago which has pretty much every good trainer (N, Lysandre, Float Stone, Fan Club, Birch's Observations, Sycamore, Professor's Letter, Shauna, Skyla, Tierno, Ultra Ball, Vs. Seeker, Dive Ball, Escape Rope, Fisherman, Rare Candy, Rough Seas and Teammates)

Evolutions is, almost undeniable, the weakest set for several years.
You can buy it if you want, but you'll never win any games under any circumstances.
>also want to get into TCG
>undoubtedly no presence of casual audience in my area, only NEETs who take it a bit too seriously
>no friends interested in pokemon, or TCG's
