The best buddies are Chansey/Blissey, or Snorlax
They are two of the rarest Pokemon families in the game, and two of the most rewarding as well.

Larv/Dratini are cool to walk, but you get a fair amount of them in eggs anyway, I evolved my first Tyranitar solely on egg candy.
Snorlax/Chansey/Blissey are all rare as fuck in the wild and have the lowest hatchrate of the 10ks too.
The buddy system is pretty much a life support for those guys if you're a legit player.

Does anyone actually go out to play pogo anymore?

IMO the most annoying thing about this general is how people get all aggressive over how other people optimally play the game, like when we had that argument over the dude just walking his Bulbasaur, or that guy who always chimps out whenever somebody says they like collecting Murkrow for the Dark medal.

Just let people play the game, it isn't that big of a deal and people have different goals anyway rather than copying the "meta."

Bellossom is very underrated. People tend to forget that CP is not a good determiner of what makes a good prestieger, having low CP at high levels is what does. Lanturn is huge, Bellossom, hell even my 1500 Machamps can kill my 3100+ Blissey assuming I'm willing to sacrifice one and go through the grueling 99 seconds of playing perfectly. Slowbro, Flareon, Vaporeon, Victribell/Tangela, Electabuzz/Raichu, even Wigglytuff can act like a weak snorlax. Plenty of good prestiegers to pick from.
