Electric had almost no good electric pokemon for a long time until Koko. There's no dominant type really since weaknesses put decks into check sorta.

Dragons can't really be run solo that well due to their weird energy cost issue and extreme dependence on special energy. Most decks don't run just one color though, a lot of decks include colorless cards like Shaymin and/or Psychic cards like Hoopa or Lele.

Just for some examples of viable decks (some are kind of bad because of disgustingly bad matchups but still run well if you don't find them)

Colorless: Mega Rayquaza, Talonflame/Aerodactyl
Grass: Decidueye, Lurantis, Trevenant GUR, Vileplume (usually paired with one or more of the previous mentions
Fire: Volcanion
Water: Lapras, Greninja, Gyarados
Lightning: Raikou/Electrode, Tapu Koko
Psychic: Garbodor, Mega Mewtwo, Espeon
Fighting: Zygarde/Carbink, Lycanrock
Dark: Yveltal, Darkrai, Umbreon
Metal: Solgaleo/Lurantis, Mega Scizor, Excadrill
Dragon: Giratina/Tauros, Darkrai/Dragons
Fairy: Xerneas, Xerneas BREAK, Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir

Lightning, Dark and Fire seem to be getting the most support in the next set, but we'll see how that goes with the full set list.

I wouldn't say primary, but she's a pretty good attacker against some decks. I played against Ancient Origins Gyarados deck and sweeped my way through with her alone. However some other decks can be problematic for her, like a Greninja Break deck.
Overall she's pretty good attacker imo

This fire turbo shit also doesn't have to discard items as much as aqua turbo does which makes it less weak to garb, though most of the good fire acceleration targets deal retardo high damage that is wasted on garb.

In terms of the big cards leaving, shaymin, lysandre, seekers, trainers' mails hit everything. FOGP, silent lab, dive ball and level ball will have major impacts on a lot of big decks as well, it'll cut back grass but the best one card tech answer we have for volc is also leaving.

Dark is and always will be king of typing in TCG thanks to the opposing weakness/resistance combo of Yveltal and Darkrai. It helps it stay a little detached from the rps metagame that every other type gets sucked under as soon as a deck becomes BDIF.
