Well, think about it for a while. We have played the stages very differently from one another. The people that are trapped in this game since day 1 probably cleared mons in first stages way differently than people right now. Events were rarer, no candies, no Victini, no more than 200 mons and no skill levels. Glalie, Mawile, Steelix and the likes weren't nerfed like they are right now, back in the day giving candies to Lucario was a very reasonable thing to do, etc.

Now, this and many guides are taking into account that the absolute best mons of certain types were event exclusive and were the best option to tackle some stages and people were writing those guides as they were clearing the stages.

Nowadays with so much stuff added and to grind, etc. nobody got time to go back and test different strats for new players, and they shouldn't. If people could clear it with really bad shitmons back in the day, newer players should be able to do so easily with so many advantages they have now.

For Ninetales, like all Alolamons is around 15-20%.

Also memefrog is fucking amazing, just finished getting it to SL5 and at level 9 it still one shots Incineroar. Coupled with an uninvested lvl 7 Wailord they guarantee the stage is over in 2 moves at most. Granted it's still in early stages but makes me have hope for the boss stages. Guess I know who's getting RML'd next.

As soon as you catch Incineroar, use the 15 minutes bonus to do the early part of the escalation.
25 can be done itemless with M-Camerupt, Landorus-T, Donphan and A-Greninja.
26-49 is really easy with M-Bee, Suicune, Landorus-T and A-Greninja

Invested a few coins and both Ninetales and Salazzle are mine. Is it worth it grinding Ninetales?

Level 7 healer items are literally the only healer you will ever need, hammer lords aren't worth shit. Take it easy anon, just get things as you can, and level whenever you can but I would recommend going full investment in one thing before going to the next. Like giving cookies and lollipops to Machamp until level 20 SL5, then move to Landorus/Emboar and so on. Other abilities don't need that much necessary investment aside from Shaymin's Sleep Charm and maybe Bellosom's Mind Zap (SL4 is already enough for it).

Well, I mentioned niche stuff before meme, so those enter in the more niche stuff since they're not as critical as damage for many stages. I have an uninvested BB Dialga and it's still pretty reliable nonetheless, same with Lugia being SL2 at most. Going full investment while good for your average performance won't be a drastic improvement with those kind of mons if you have others already doing work.
