Anything is better than Clover, Anon.
I can appreciate the effort that went into Sage but most of them really do look the part of Fakemons, and not just because most of the art fails to mesh with the official style but because they have boring or non-unique silhouettes and bad color schemes/detailing.

There's a handful I think are believable as actual Pokemon, though.

Yeah, honestly. It's fun for a few, but even the ones that aren't supposed to be memes are horribly designed. Sage is pretty much better in every way except being complete/being made in essentials

This looks great. Also, this concept reminds me of a question I had. Is there any chance that the franchise will go back to adding second or third stage evolutions or pre-evos to older Pokemon? There haven't been any since gen 4, Sylveon being the sole exception because of the fairy gimmick. Mega evolutions are cool and all, but I don't want them totally taking over normal evolutions. For example, I've always wanted a Pinsir evolution since I was a kid but now he'll never get one because he has a Mega instead.

Zombignon is a cool concept and everything, but it doesn't seem like something Game Freak would ever do. Particularly the "evolves by KOing a Heracross/Durant/Pinsir" bit.

My preferred take on that idea is the Ghost type that evolves into a Ghost/Rock skeleton if it levels up while holding a fossil.

The problem with the Sagedex is that it's boring. It's really, really boring. The vast majority of the designs don't do anything interesting with their basic concepts, and some of them actually manage to be less interesting than the creature/thing they're based on. I didn't think it would be possible for me to find Pokémon based on bombardier beetles, skyrods and tongue lice uninteresting, but Sage managed it.
I fucking hate this fact because there are some amazing designs scattered around in there, like Trenchula, Somberado and Chillnobyl, and if all of them were that good then the Sagedex would easily beat out the official games in terms of designs. Unfortunately, the whole thing is just a swamp of mediocrity, and it hurts my soul.

You underestimate just how religious the US is, our entire government is based around "Christian values". So much so that gay marriage wasn't allowed until last year because of a misunderstood sentence in a 2000 year old book.
More than 50% of our population has a predisposed hatred for Muslims and Jews because they have different beliefs.
There's still an alarming number of people who legitimately think Pokemon is satanic because children enjoy it.

Sage has an okay dex, the pokemons just mostly stick to one idea and the mons in evolution line "are just getting bigger"
It has some great ideas, some work some don't
But you just took the most out of place pokemons from the whole dex
