I really want to see how this story differ from the game. Guzma already appeared together with the ultra wormhole. I think the final fight will end with Sun defeating Moon, but giving her the talisman when he understands it has no monetary value. She takes on the challenge to discover more about the ultrawormhole while Sun returns to his job, but is asked by Lillie to find Moon becuase she wants to catch up to her but is still too weak to do so herself.

This was a really fun chapter.

Hau was beaten offscreen, poor guy didn't even get to lose properly. We get Sun annoying Moon for no reason other than he knows her and I love it. Guzma appears, and holy fuck this faggot is edgy. Way more edgy than Gladion will ever be. Considering he and Gladion didn't interact, does that mean Gladion isn't in Team Skull? I hope not. Too early to judge, but something to look out for.

We get to the fight, and it was easily my favorite yet. Despite beating a NFE Rock-type earlier, it seems a Fully Evolved Water-type is too much for a Fire-type like En. We finally get to see Dollar again. I really like how they're named. WAY more creative than the usual nicknames we get. We get to see Sun being a great battler, using his environment to his advantage once again. The final Night Slash looked pretty fucking cool. Golisopod comes out and attacks, it I really thought for a moment that Sun will lose this. It seemed really one sided. Turns out they piss off the royal Meowth, and while this may be a bit cliche, holy fuck was this cool. I really liked how he intentionally threw Golisopod at Guzma. Merciless. Moon shows more trust in Sun, and Sun wins easily. Makes some money off of it too.

On a side note, FUCK YOU Guzma. Breaking his arm like that. It felt good seeing you hurt your head with your own edge.

So now Moon treats Sun, and no sure if you caught it, but Sun uses the Sparkling Stone as splint. You know, the one used to make fucking Z-rings. We all know where this is going. Hau was pretty cute too.

Moon goes off to face Gladion, and I think she was the cutest and at her best in these last for 4 pages. She talks with Gladion about Ultra Wormholes in middle of the battle. She's apparently already got a grasp at Gladion's character, and possibly finds it cute. Just like the rest of us. Last page shows the cutest Moon, Gladion and Hau. Sun is following Nanu's footsteps and is being a meanie. I want to see them team up.

Anyway I feel like the dollar going berserk thing was rather cheap, it didn't feel like it should have won given the circumstances. It establishes Sun and his Pokemon as having crappy plot armor. Sun walks off the arm thing so whatever, Guzma did what a lot of people would have done if an Alolan Meowth survived a First Impression and proceeded to kill a heavy physical defensive Pokemon with PAY DAY.

Because I had something to say about the entire chapter? I thought it was easier than making multiple posts, each talking about different things.

As for the plot armor, I guess that's understandable. They had established Sun to be pretty strong by this point, having him effortlessly win every fight, even defending against Tapu Koko, so I didn't think it was that out of place. If a character established to be strong is winning, I personally don't have any problems with that.

Besides, I think this is what makes the battles fun. Otherwise, it would be like seeing someone else play a game. Pokemon having strong and weak points is what makes them fun. This Meowth has been established to be JUST a battler. Only ever caring about fighting. Its weakness is literally everything but fighting. It balances out and it makes sense for it to be strong, and that's good enough for me.

I just hope Sun experiences some growth or loss later, because with how all his battles have been going so far, he's shaping up to be an unbeatable joe. Those can be alright in some contexts, but Pokemon has a lot of those already and he has to develop some sort of growth, as he is already starting out at a ridiculously unbeatable level, with a meowth that's nigh-immune to SE moves that can berserk and instakill something that would normally take nary a scratch. It really doesn't end up balancing out if it is TOO good in any one area, as it leaves no room for it to grow. Sure it has shortcomings in some areas (e.g. it's "lazy") but it's far too lopsided in its favor.

I think it was a dick move, but it would have been more interesting to see Guzma win and get the medal, and then how the story would make it so Sun gets it or rather make them both into island challengers. It was also nice to see a villain who didn't shy around actually hurting someone, especially one as unstable as Guzma, so I think that it was beneficial to the story overall that he broke Sun's arm. As it is though, the story right now is too formulaic and is following along a very tight, railroaded path, and I'd like to see it deviate a little more than just "X character is being fought here instead" or "Y is happening earlier than in story." And we all know he's going to lose sometime. It's just a matter of when and how. Wanting to see hero struggle in fights is a fair thing to want. I just personally don't have as much problem as long as it isn't a complete asspull. Especially in the beginning. Remember, this is just the 6th Chapter. If I recall correctly, Red was beating Brock and his Onix with a newly caught Pikachu at this point.

I'm okay with this because I don't think every hero needs to start off weak. Kusaka is intentionally establishing him to be extra strong. He didn't need to fight Guzma. He did because they wanted to establish that his confidence doesn't come from nowhere. That despite Dollar being useless to Sun with his job, why does he still keep him. That said, if you don't like this sort of character, be ready for when he gets even more overpowered, with Z-moves.

Well maybe if the Golisopod was newly evolved and the Meowth was level 95 or so, yeah. The levels of the Pokemon weren't stated though so it's anyone's guess(although levels do exist in adventures). So it isn't really dumb, just unfeasible for 99% of any situation. Pretty logical conclusion to say that the pod should have beaten the cat.

I'm REALLY glad to see Moon fawning over Poison-types. I was really afraid she was going to be the next White, a really boring character that brings nothing interesting to the story, yet everyone except for me loves her for some fucking reason. Until now, she was just an audience surrogate, the most generic a character could be, and seeing how everyone loved her, I was afraid she would stay the same. A boring character whose most interesting part was her fucking job.

The last few pages changed my opinion of her. Being someone who values fair fights and loving Poison-types adds a lot to her, enough to make me like her. Her normally serious demeanor and her love for Poison-types bring some gap moe to the table, and her not just being a generic Tsukkomi, but an actually straightforward person who values fairness is a nice touch. I still don't understand what people saw in her before other than her vagina, but I can appreciate the character a lot more now.

When I was 13. I heard there was a manga, bought the first volume, liked it and read the rest of RGB arc online all at once that night. Didn't read Yellow arc until last year. I tried it some arcs a bunch of times over the years, and found them boring as fuck. I came across DPPt arc, I found it really fun, went back and forced myself to read the rest, just for the sake of completion. Been following it since.

So far, RGB, DPPt and XY were the only arcs I liked. It started getting involving more and more bullshit in Yellow and the characters weren't as fun, and that continued until Emerald. BW was alright, I liked Black and a couple of Gym Leaders, like Skyla, but most of everything was shit and boring, so I didn't enjoy it too much, though I didn't dislike it either. BW2 has been fine at best. It hasn't been boring, but that's all its achieved so far. SM has been pretty fun so far, but only 6 chapters in, so not getting my hopes too high.

There are plenty of changes.

The "Adventures"/Full Volumes:
-Some chapters are extended.
-N is given more screentime earlier and in flashbacks, it's shown he was stalking Black the entire time making him even more creepy.
-It includes ALL side chapters (which is like 8+).
-These side chapters include White's training in the Battle Subway, and Bianca joining White in her own adventures.
-Fixes the "OWNED" speech bubble that had only one line in the original.
-It's not a square shaped book, that means the art is no longer cropped off vertically.
-Lack Two actually cameos during the tournament.

Red/Green realistically got enough screentime in GSC and the GSC flashbacks... and the entire Volume 23.

Red/Blue pairing is heavily hinted all throughout FRLG and even really far back as in RGB and Y arc, but nothing really came out of it.

I honestly give zero fucks about Red ships. If I must say, I ship him with everyone I can. I just like seeing Red and Green together, and am hoping they get some more alone time. I just like their duo and find it fun, not because I want them to fuck.

The simple middle ground here would be Red and Green come first, the rest join them after a few chapters. Even though I want only Red and Green, it's pretty much guaranteed at least Yellow will also appear, unless Kusaka really does plan to kill her off like that and never have her appear again.

This is why I don't think there will be any shipping this time around. The interactions between Sun and Moon have been friendly, but as far as we know, Sun is that way with everyone. The interaction between Moon and Lillie was even less shippy than the one in the games. Hau is even more of a simpleton here, so any ships with him sound impossible.
Unlike with Shauna or Yancy, Lillie is more important to the overall plot, so she will get more interactions with everyone, I just don't see any of it being romantic.

Out of these five, three things have already been established. All it did was introduce Nebby and establish Lillie's nature. That is exactly the reason why the Ultra Wormhole came up. Because otherwise, this scene was too empty compared to the game, as it was just repeating what had already been established. So in order to make it at least as meaningful as the games, this is where Lillie is replaced in the tournament and an Ultra Wormhole appears.

So I'm curious as to what else you think this scene triggers.

Steven came back, Lysandre was killed in the games too. The only new ones here are Archie and Maxie. Maxie was killed off by Archie in RSE, and Archie later ended up dying himself. They retconned their deaths later on, making it that their souls mixed and other such bullshit, and they came back in ORAS for a while, before their time ran out and they just ended up dying again.

Archie killed Maxie RS manga. Norman, Steven, Maxie, and Courtney or whatever, but everyone of them besides Maxie stayed alive due to Ruby's Celebi saving their lives in the RS manga, in FRLG Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, and Silver were all turned to stone and in the Emerald ark was brought back.
