That attack is retarded good for just C. It basically 2HKOs every ability draw and 3HKOs shit like non-FFB volc EX. If they give us a Dusk Ball or some shit to pull dark pokes out of the deck (sounds stupid but its dark type we're talking about) this thing will be utterly broken

I mean imagine this in an Espeon deck, or an Umbreon energy disruption deck. Both of those decks use self-searching primary attackers so you can run them without Shaymemes if you want to use this instead.

Weavile is the perfect addition to the Baby Koko/Baby Lele deck that spreads damage with baby koko's 'deal 20 damage to every pokemon your opponent has in play' attack then uses Lele's 'rearrange all damage counters on your opponent's pokes how you want' attack to choose what it wants to kill.

Especially in expanded with dimension valley which makes that Lele attack just cost P, weavile only needs C. Koko just needs DCE. Throw in a Turmoil Strike Meowth for a higher damage sniper that also just uses DCE, and Espeon-EX as tech against GX decks where you can't otherwise build up enough damage for KOs.

I mean just think about how stupid Espeon will be once the meta shifts into a more evolution heavy style. Miraculous Shine utterly destroys 2nd stage centric decks, both wasting rare candies and stalling out evolutions if you can get it off early enough. And on GX cards it's already some dirty shit. Lurantis goes from 210hp to 60, solgaleo from 250 to either 60 or 90 depending on if you candied it or evolved naturally, decidueye from 240 to 80.

It will be so satisfying to set up that damage, arrange it perfectly with Lele then hammer it home with a Shine that takes 2-5 prizes in one turn or straight up donks them.

Real talk though, the sheer amount of FAs, SRs and RRs they're putting in each set, especially with the amount of them that's reprints just smacks of a cash grab, which is strange because companies normally only do this when they're losing faith in their product, with TPCi has no reason to do apart from the meta getting gradually worse and worse over time. But as long as people continue to buy as much product as they do, TPCi will continue to do this.

I still don't understand how there was this massive outcry from the Japanese PTCG community to make a gigantic reprint set to stagnate the format for another 2 years and dent the crap out of the secondary market.

Meta wise, I personally don't see a reason why people won't just be spamming Dark big basics en masse until the end of time when Darkrai GX gets released but that's just me.

Remember that deviance from nominal numbers do exist (but somehow never less than 12 holo rares or better per box for some reason), when you produce so many boxes there's bound to have a box or two that will give you less or more than statistical average. Out of two cases you'd expect to get one or two boxes without. That's why the mapping trick was a thing originally, they intentionally had a hard line of 4 GXs and 2 FAs with a high HR chance in each box. Compare that to the sets before where you could get anywhere from 1 to 3 FAs or 3-6 EXs, plus 2 or 3 Breaks per box. There was a lot more variance. If they're sticking boxes to 4 GXs (and the chance to dupe up) and two FAs (with lower HR/SR chance) in a set with 20 Secret Rares, that's going to make prices on them really high due to how hard it will be to pull specific cards.

Trainers: All of the stadiums are useful except brooklet hill, which may be more useful after rotation due to the bigger focus on evolution. Choice Band and Field Blower will become staple cards in most decks, Aqua Patch will be good and get really good after rotation kills vileplume antics. Rescue Stretcher will supplant super rod in some decks. Mallow will become a one of in a lot of decks, Hala might be used in decks with low cost GX moves like Decidueye.

I think most people don't particular worry/care about the regular GXs anymore (relatively speaking) since it is much easier to pull them now compared to Gen 5 EX days

You really dont need much. Sleeves are a must, but you can buy them there if you dont have any. Damage counters/dice, coin for flipping and a GX market would be ideal but if you dont have any of those people will usually let you borrrow them. Thats about it, prereleases arent exactly hyper competitive scenes so just go and have fun

mega ray is a pretty good deck in the grand scheme of things, easily t2, possibly t1.

It's probably the most expensive deck in the game right now though because it runs 4 shaymin, 2 hoopa plus 3-3 rayquaza/m rayquaza and a Jolteon-EX or Jirachi promo. The only cheap pokemon it runs is dragonite-ex and it's not that cheap in paper.
