I'm going to trade for some Mawile/Mega Mawile when this card comes out and try a sylveon/victini/mawile deck. Prayer GX is a good way to absolutely fuck decks that depend on elixirs for energy acceleration.

It is already kind of fading from relevancy. Vespiquen has always had a high skill cap since you needed to use so many resources to reach OHKO levels on 180HP EXs. It has Klefki to help keep the prize trade in your favour versus Mega decks, but now as more and more decks have 250HP GX cards, Vespiquen is dropping down the tiers.

You can still hit hard and fast and stay on the right side of the prize trade, but it's becoming even harder to play and is going to need much tweaking as GX deck become more and more popular. Perhaps some kind of Vespiquen/Golispod deck might become a thing when that card drops.

should elaborate on that by saying there are other decks that manage better without shaymin. Vespiquen is a deck that needs a lot of shit to come together pretty quickly to start flowing so you can't reliably run it without shaymin.

typically, water decks are the best things to run without shaymins since they have dive ball + octillery which is a tolerable substitute.

decided to revisit tcg after seeing a couple packs on sale for easter. nothing good (holo machamp from evolutions, maybe).

anyway, i found my way into my trainer account and there seems to be a bunch of random cards in it? like some thundurus full art and an articuno with a "plus" thing on it (extra prize card when knocked out?). and some of them are shown in the collection, but have locks and a number next to them? i also started with 400 and some odd token things.
so i guess i'm kinda wondering- what am i looking at? i can provide pictures if they would help.

Locks represent no-trade cards. Basically the system is set up so only packs obtained from challenges at high levels, tournaments and redeemed from RL product codes can be traded. Packs granted from log-in rewards, bonus wheel and token purchases, and any cards obtained from them are non-tradable.

No, our SM2 is most likely their SM1+ and SM2. Our SM3 will be their SM2+ and SM3.

Granted we don't have a set list for the international product yet, but the set would be rather large if it included SM1+, SM2 and SM2+.

eh, it'll end up being shitty, I guarantee it. There are too many cards devoted to switching that literally every deck runs multiples of, escape ropes, float stones, plain old switch, olympia, ect.

Expanded's even worse for that card with Keldeo. You'll just end up doing 100 damage for 3P which is abysmal compared to much more consistent stage 1 cards like Espeon and Mewtwo.

lapras isn't a toolbox either, it's a water box, dubbed as such because it uses a lot of exclusive water support options like manaphy, palkia, dive balls and soon aqua patch. toolbox decks are usually stuff that contains some obnoxious lock like garbodor or vileplume then a variety of cards designed to lock every different deck out of its ability to play the game (ie vileplume/jolteon/glaceon).

People like to think their moves, I think its fine sometimes but a lot of the time people take forever like theyre almost waiting for the counter timer to pop up and then they make their move where theyre half expecting you to just rage quit.

Most of the time im not sure why, its not that hard to think on the move as things happen. If you knw whats in your deck you can tell what is prized unless youre a noob. Use cards to draw more and get something going. They should be planning their moved during the opponents turn. I saw some of yellowswellows videos and that fat fuck takes so god dam long. You know what deck youre running and the effects/attacks the pokemon have and what the item+supporter cards do. Theres no need to drag the game to a grinding halt.

I did rage quit recently in the theme tournament final for tickets, didnt matter if I got 1 more ticket but I wasnt gonna wait for that idiot to make his move after 2 rounds.

Get 4 nest balls, an Oranguru or two wouldn't hurt either. Ultras aren't very useful in this deck due to a lack of shaymemes, the ultras synergize with shaymin so well because you discard the 2 least useful cards, and your ultra so Shaymin gets at least 3 more cards than it otherwise would have.

If Lysandre's Trump Card went out of play instead of the discard, there would be no way to use it again with VS Seeker.

Anon, weakness defines the meta. Whenever a deck sees too much play, it's counter type also does. Pokémon has this rock-paper-scissors mechanic to mimic the games but also to give an answer to any dominating strategy.

In a tournament players make choices based on what other people play. Weakness can then make no difference in the game itself, but that's only because the guy who plays Scizor was forced to play something else when Volcanion was released, not because the mechanic itself doesn't matter.

I think it annoys the collectors here and how it is another extra rarity of the same card to collect, a friend of mine who collects and split cases with me pretty much told me he won't bother with Secret / Hyper Rares since it just pushes prices for a whole set way up

It doesn't really make them even cheaper since regular GXs so far are already cheap enough as is (except Decidueye since it only comes in regular version and Topu Meme since that will be a staple). Case openings seems to suggest Hyper Rares actually reduce the amount of Full Art cards you open

You can't even get around it by buying boxes to possibly save money because they're so stupidly rare it's not worth it. I've got all of the EX series master sets and XY master sets with some more here and there but Sun and moon series is just not worth the money to me and I think there's other collectors in the same boat of deciding to work on a NM master set of first edition base or some autistic cash grab by making cards needlessly difficult to get without drug dealing. If they wanted to have my money, they should have given better ratios. 3 gx 1-2 full art and 1-2 hyper/secret per box. That's enough to still be difficult to complete a set but enough to keep me going back for more. Making the hyper/secrets maybe 1 per box is 10/10 cancer because you can potentially buy a case and not get any of them which im sure has happened

The 3 GX and 1~2 Full Art is pretty much guaranteed and you might get even more regular GXs. The only problem is that you get either Hyper or Secret Rares in a box speaking of which did anyone here ever pull both in one single box?

That's the thing. I'm not going to do the next set because I was dissatisfied with the value. I'll be buying what's necessary for a deck and that's it.
