You only need a little under 200 Lucky Egg evo sprees, and that's only assuming you spend your entire playtime farming Pidgeys. No dex entries, no Pokestop spins, no gyms. But if you're some fag dumping a few hundred dollars a month into the game and spending it non-stop on Lucky Eggs and shit while sitting under lures and catching Pokemon, you're going to do way better than that.

It's just that when you start doing that shit, the Money Spent / 1 Exp ratio gets excessively too high so at that point you have to ask whether lv 40 is worth the few hundred dollars.

That and they are probably botters.

Assuming a completely optimal playthrough, it'd only take about 3-4 months worth of "gameplay" to get to level 40.
