One of the gyms is pretty close to my home so I can keep an eye out on which people belong to which accounts. We have no totadile here in our grass biome region so far this event. (Never had any gen 2 starters, or gen 1 other than squirtle except for during the starter event). No quillfish either. Lots of karp, mantine, remoraid, octillery, lanturn, squirtle though. Not sure why totadile is so region specific while these others aren't. Niantic still hasn't figured out how to nicely distribute everything everywhere. Was hoping they figured out how to do it when I watched a teddy ursa (not uncommon here) turn into octillery at the start of the event, but I guess whatever turned into totadile isn't something that spawns here.

Totodile is common-ish where I live. I live in a garbage-water biome (ie not near the sea, river, or lake) and I get useless stuff like Poliwag, Goldeen, Krabby, Marill, Staryu, with usually some grass types like Oddish, Sunkern, Exeggcute, Bulbasaur. Some Pokemon (Like Swinub and Eevee) do not exist here. Chikorita also show up and I havent seen Squirtle too often since gen 2.

If you only click to encounter nothing but Magikarp and ignore all other Pokemon, does your rate of encountering a shiny increase?
