The thing is the reason I came back to the anime after Johto is because AG and DP at least gave you the impression Ash and the show was going somewhere. Then came BW and it all went to hell, but then XY seemed to bring the anime back on track from the end of DP...and with the way Ash was written we all thought he might win the league.

But all that goodwill is now gone. SM isn't going toward anything and the anime may never end. So what reason is there to continue?

We had discussions on /a/ about XY but for the most part, it was a mix of XY and previous seasons. Basically, a general discussion about the anime franchise. People usually post webm of some of the fights and claim how great it was while people found it lacking. Can't believe nobody posted this yet, but the english dubbed ending has listed all the writers under contract for SM, and spoiled the fact that the writing team in SM does NOT consist of only Matsui, Tomioka and Omode.

The three yet to debut are Shoji Yonemura (a veteran on the team, wrote Ash-Greninja vs Mega Gardevoir for example), and two brand new ones in Junichi Fujisaku and Ayumi Sekine.

RIP Ohashi, Fujita and Takegami though. At least Fujita won't be able to write another league loss episode.
