Unless you have 100% shit tier luck and never get any non-guaranteed rares, energy is more efficient than a sex pack.

10 gems get 100 energy, which gets 5 battles.
Even if you're literal trash who just forfeits twice then shuppets past bugsy, you can get 1⅔ figures from ten gems.

That means you get, at the absolute bare minimum, 50 fucking figures from the 300 gems you'd use to buy a single sextuple pack.

If you'd be too impatient to wait for the sweet, sweet sexes, have upgraded your energy, or aren't a drooling retard in battle, it gets even better.

So unless you don't have the time (and be honest; you're on here after all) or the developers have specifically coded the game to screw you over personally, you have no reason not to gem your energy and get the statistically probable EX per... twenty wins? Fifty?

Shit, I just ran the numbers and I realize i should of been doing that since the get go. To get the most figures per gems you have to open the box manually instead of waiting to loose to have it forced open (waste 20 energy on loosing just to open). And you have to open them after the first win. It comes out to 50 figures to 100 gems if you win 1 match then open the box right away and repeat x 5 (same goes for 2 wins, but not worth risking a loss in the second match for no gain in figures per energy). If you're going for figures and dont care about the cubes and metals then its best to open every box after 1st win. After so many openings if you get at least 1 rare or uncommon, then you already doing better than spending 150+ energy for only 4 figures.

Just did my first 100 energy run of this, played 5 games where I open the booster after every win instead of advancing.

100 energy 4 figures with 1 uncommon (a little lucky).

For the same payout, if you play till you loose to open a booster, then you would have to use up 140 energy by winning 6 in a row and losing on the 7th. Winning 6 in a row is harder than winning any 4 out of 5. Opening after each win seems like a much better way to get more figures. Of course this is only if you don't care about cubes and shit.

Fuck I should of been doing this and gemming energy instead of gemming for quad packs. But I think I can still get a good amount of figures with the short time left.

I think that would be a good thing. As long as you could add more ex and r through evolution. Like having a latios but also a frioakie that can evolve to greninja is still allowed. I really like how evolving works, but it sucks that I'm limited to just 1 or 2 evolution lines because starter mons are too weak against a common 4/5 ex team. So I think limiting ex would make evolutions more useful to the game. I wouldn't be upset if they made that change or if they added that as an option in room matches.

Zapdos and Greninja are the best choices. In this event, Greninja doesn't even come close to Zapdos. In general, I'd still pick Zapdos, because most of the time, Greninja won't hit for damage more than 60. Both have good Blue Attacks, but Zapdos also has the ability to Paralyze on command.

I am not refering to the musician, but certain legendaries.

They were pretty good figures, considering they can move through figures, but this was limited by them having 2MP. Now, the Gym gives Flying-types +1MP (unless they were at 3MP already) and +20 power to Ice-type attacks.

Still, I suggest getting into the event. If you do manage to get a win streak, you can try your luck with the prizes. Gym Boosters have full pool of Time Boosters right from the get go (Time Boosters pool of Rare and EX is unlocked as you get promoted to higher leagues), on top of Magikarp and Gyarados which cannot be gotten any other way right now. And before you ask, no, you do not lose prizes if the streak is broken. You can still claim prizes, though entering the gym cup battle costs Energy.

There are some pretty good Common or Uncommon figures, by the way, so it's not just Rare and EX that steal the spotlight.

there's barely anything worth evolving though, and just a tiny few are able to put up the fight in PvP, it's easier in quests

There is extra tutorial (click on the dumbbell icon on the main screen).

If you have both Rattata and Raticate you can set up Rattata to evolve (evolution will happen if you either KO a figure or displace it with something like Meowth's Fake Out). Evolution gives +1* to purple attacks and +10 to white and gold attacks. The evolution stays for the rest of the match.

I am the guy who lost that streak of 6 to bad connection above.

It's good if you use it at the start of the game and let it play for you. I swear the RNG is rigged to be more favourable to the AI. Don't throw AI on in a losing position though expecting a save, because it won't.

I used AI to go 1800-1920, but then I tilted back down to 1780ish and just played my own way back up
