I'm assuming sex packs were a thing when you started. I can't help but feel that you're arguing from a position of privilege here. What is your team? Either way, you can't tell me that since the start dash dried up, your material gathering hasn't slowed down exponentially. It's frustrating trying to compete with 6 ex teams and birbs the meta when literally the best figure you've pulled in a dozen packs was a single shuppet. I'm still using emolga and squirtle. I got up to the 1700s with relative ease by outplaying people, but now I'm hitting teams of 2 manaphy, 2 greninja, blastoise, and empoleon or 2 articunos. a lugia, a genesect, mewtwo, and yveltal etc. My deck is just plain not fun to play and I have zero means to improve it without spending money or taking a huge blow to the only means I have of getting an ex reliably. I realize the system works for some people, but it really really didn't for me.

I think I'm frustrated with this game because I've been playing digimon linkz forever, which is also a gatcha game. Linkz on the other hand, isn't hellbent on preventing players from being in control of their progress. I've been able to set goals and then actually achieve them in that game. I'm satisfied with my roster of digimon, and the payout generally reflects the effort put in. There's still RNG, sure, but there are plenty of things to do that are divorced from it. And there is NOTHING in that game that deliberately takes months or even weeks to achieve. Instead, it's loaded to the brim with content so they don't have to artificially stretch people's interest to keep them playing

My core strategy is trapping and rushing. I don't mind losing Pokemon as long as I can keep up the exchange. 4v4 I feel real good about. Greninja isn't too scary, Keldeo is a good matchup there. A lot of stuff I run because I don't have better options and because it just werks.

How do I use Leafeon effectively? It feels really deadweight every time I try to use it. Peoples teams are loaded with EX figures which have purple attacks with at least 2 star rating so Grasswhistle is useless. Grass Pokemon are barely used in general except for Chestnaught as a goalie, so its ability rarely comes into play. Should I switch to Umbreon instead?

I own a Shuppet and a Gastly. They're kind of similar. A lot of times I just rush to the opponent entry points, which essentially screws the opponent over. Since they both have 3MP, if the opponent fails to kill them, they win.
When it doesn't work, I have a nice goal keeper that allows me to buy some time to start over.

If you go second you need to predict and block the birbs movements, even with blocking your own spawn points and always keeping your goal safe. If you go first make the enemy birbs play defensively, obviously an unlucky roll can change everything.
