Most of the new pokemon will be meh tier, so gen2 won't really change things much, except for tyranitar, donphan and espeon, since we will finally have a psychic type that can reach 3k cp

Donphan may be interesting or not depending on its attacks, but he won't be stronger than rhydon anyway.

The only hope to revitalize the game does not lie with gen2, but with better attacks. We need attacks to do more than just damage.

If Blissey get a move to heal herself, she will be the BEST tank in the game. Otherwise, she will be meh tier.

If ground and flying type gain immunity to each other, if faery gains immunity to dragon, if steel gains immunity to poison, normal to ghost and ghost to normal, THEN the game will live.

That's the only way to inject actual life into PoGo. 2nd gen aint shit

You know that beyond STAB, animation speed is also a huge factor, right? for example, arcanina is the fastest user of bite attack, so even though neither he nor gyarados have stat, he still does more damage with it when they are at roughly the same cp.

If they buff the karate chop speed of machamp, it would be a easy way to "fix/buff" him without needing to recalculate or rebalance attacks

Not really. All you need to do is
1)Check the % of their pokemon coming from the same country they opened their account from, against the ones they have.
2) Check if the pokemon they catch are placed in gyms in the country they catch them. I have a teammate that has 11 dtagonites and 12 snorlax, and they are all japanese, yet he places them in the local gyms where we live.

(honestly, I would suspect any account with that many dragonites)

3) Check how many gyms they collect each day. That friend collects 10 every single day. Pisses me to no end that he actually whines when those of our team that actually walk, get together to go get gyms and don't leave him a space for him to just place his pokemon in. Why the fuck can't he fight to level it up? Its not like he has to walk to get potions and revives, you know? Seriously pisses us off

4)If he has caught pokemon all over the world, theres a very high chance he's a spoofer, specually if he has only been in each city for a single day, and waits eactly 8 hours to change cities.

What, you think commercial pilots make a important % of the total of players? Hell, we both know you are exagerating, because I dont mean the guy that goes over to another country and stays there for a few days or weeks, or even to live there.

We're talking about the spoofers that go to SF to farm pokemon and pokestops, then after a couple of hours log out, then 8hrs later log back in from Perú, grab the local gyms, then log back out and go to sleep, then repeat the whole thing the following day.

There's clear and obvious patterns to spoofer behavior.

Alternatively, go with that "take a picture" thing someone else suggested

Actually, the easiest way to stop spoofers is to make them irrelevant.

If all cities had as many pokestops as new york or SF, and as many different enviroments with as many varied pokemon, spoofers wouldnt have any real advantage.

The way to stop spoofers is to make them irrelevant, but it will take time and effort.

The 'easy' way is to just accept pokestop submissions, but that will 100% guaranteed bring in a tsunami of requests. However, they should still do it, even if it takes a year to sort through them.

The longer they delay doing it, the longer it will be before the game revives.

Alternatively, they could hire a team in each country to do the job. I clearly remember seeing the google truck going around taking pictures for google map. Sure, it took a while, but it got done.

The only thing that's wrong with spoofers is the only '''competitive''' side of PoGo, Gyms.
They can just fly around and take as many gyms as possible at any time they want, while other people physically can't, so they have an advantage there. There's also the Pokemon they'll have, since they can fly where ever they want to find rarer spawns, but that's a lesser issue.

There's a 8000 people town about 200 kilometers from my city, where they have 1 gym, and no pokestops. I wonder what they would say about that.

Interestingly, its a millenia-old town with many, many historical ruins, hot springs, statues, fountains, and roads left from the inca empire.

It used to be a stop for inca traders, and a relay post for the inca runners that carried fresh fish from the shore to the emperor's table.

Catch a fish in the sea. Hand it to a runner. That guy sprints 10 kilometers to a relay runner, who then sprints 10 kilometers... etc. After 50 runners, the inca emperor had fresh fish at his table every day.

I wonder what would those runners think if any given emperor didnt like fish?

Anyway, its a town FULL of historical stuff. ANCIENT temples turned catholic churches, fortresses, and stuff. I'd say there's more historical sites than there are homes.

Yet all it has is one gym, and no pokestops.

If they made the lure 12x as effectve instead of 12x as long, people would be actually able to burn through the module with just 1-2 battery charges.

Imagine a park with 5 modules, and you walking around. You would get hundreds of pokemon in just a couple of minutes.

We were anticipating a double candy event that's why we stocked up all rares and Dratinis. Tomorrow we will be transferring them all. That's 50 Snorlax's and 170 Dratinis to be transferred. Patience pays off.

As for buddy walking, Dragonite should be a better choice since the only relevant Gen 2 Pokemon that can be buddied now is Chansey. If the "increased" spawns for Fairy types will just be like the starters back in the new year starter event, then you will be able to get a decent amount of Chansey candies to be able to prepare for Blissey. If there are a butt ton of Dratini around your area then Snorlax is a better buddy choice.

I honestly believe this is one of the biggest blunders of the gaming industry.

So I was just training a gym while someone else was taking it over. As soon as I killed my teams pokemon, the rival team pokemon showed up and the game automatically loaded a different team than what I was using. I also had a glitch were my pokemon died but stayed on the field a few times.

The UI for this game is pretty bad sometimes. There's delay for switching pokemon, swipes get counted as taps and scrolling through pokemon to use an item can lead to the item being used on the wrong thing.

I read on TSR that apparently the last few updates they've been fixing the code or something. There's been more glitches/crashes than ever but I don't know shit about coding so what do I know? Some people are trying to stay positive because of the presence of certain things like new trainer clothing, new evolution methods and of course gen 2 being in the code, but I feel like they're still missing the fundamental problem with the game in that there's nothing to fucking do aside from catch Pokemon, so adding Gen 2 will only stem the tide of boredom for a short time.

Getting the strongest 100% Pokemon doesn't really do anything. Holding Gyms down is almost impossible and battles in the game just aren't fun (If they ever add PvP I can't imagine it working with the current battle system, dont know what they were thinking).

This is the main issue here.

The game has absolutely no substance. There is nothing good gameplay wise to keep people going. There would need to be a SERIOUS revision to the core game mechanics in order to bring people back and make it a good game. Everything else, these little events, tiny additions to background things you can do, new pokemon, nothing will help.
