Caught my first ever shiny just yesterday in Moon.

You have 2.5 ways.

1) You have get a shiny Hawlucha via a Flying Friend Safari, but the odds of getting that now are slim.

2) You can do random encounters on Route 10 in the grass and try to get lucky.

2.5) The same thing as above, but with a twist. I used this trick to get my shiny Goomy on Route 14. You can use what's called a Repel Trick Method where you'll have a Pokemon with Illuminate (Staryu, Volbeat, etc.) that's level 21, and by using a Repel in Yellow Flowers (Hawlucha's level is at maximum level 20 in normal grass, while though it has a rare encounter rate, it is a max of level 21 in the yellow flowers), you'll have a chance of encountering only Hawlucha, Snubbull, Golett or Sigilyph instead of those mentioned 4, Eevee, Houndour and Emolga. You'll still have to try to random encounter it while on the repel so I recommend fainting the Illuminate-r and bring a lot of repels.

I'm not sure if you can use PokeRadar for one since it's a shit method but you can try.

Strategies to chain Munchlax?

I'm using a low level Yungoos for thief, a low-ish level Dartrix for false swipe and a Granbull for the rest.
Can it be streamlined more?

I just hatched a MM Charmander, too 356 eggs. Only later did I realize that for thematic reasons, I should've hunted it on gen 6 to give it a Kalos Champion Ribbon

Also, it oddly had shitty IVs despite the 5iv parents. Lost the rolls and lost out on HA too, but it's not like it's missing Contrary.

So if your Trainer ID and Secret ID are within a certain range of each other in a gen 4 game the Cute Charm ability causes pokemon with 8 abilities to become shiny when encountered in the wild. Male cute charmer + 8/25 abilities = 2/3 chance of being female x 8/25 = 21.34%
You can choose the natures you want (I chose Modest, Timid, Jolly, Naive, Impish, Serious, Lax, Hasty as it's objectively the most useful combination out of the 3 groups). I got this to work using RNG Reporter and Eon Timer with no prior RNG experience in a few hours but it can be done in a much shorter time. Youtube has a bunch of resources on this.

I forgot how it works but in Gen 4, if Trainer ID and secret ID are almost the same number (I think the difference can only be around 10 at the maximum) it activates some sort of glitch that makes Pokemon of specific Natures spawn as shiny if you lead with a Cute Charm Pokemon
It depends on how close your IDs are and the glitch obviously doesn't work with genderless Pokemon
The range of natures is also determined by the closeness of your ID, as well as what gender ratios the Pokemon species have

I did the same thing, I saw attack and speed and got excited but then realized I had to go catch another one, your growlithe has a chance though being a mixed attacker. delphox really needed speed and couldn't be physical.

Honestly yes. I hatch my eggs while half-asleep it's such a mindless task. But if you are not hatching you might wanna be careful not to overlook the shiny.

I've gotten almost 14 boxes of Claunchers and not a single shiny in SM.

This is with MM and Shiny Charm. 1/500 my ass.

What is there general opinion on using pkhex to view stats of eggs in boxes in order to scout for shines?

The method is collecting box after box of eggs, open pkhex, see if any are shiny, then clear the boxes save the game and try again.

This method is the most efficient way to do this considering you can turn off the daycare lady's question on where to place the egg; to automatically send them to the box, so all you do is correct the eggs.
