So I see a lot of people saying that Dexnav and hordes are useful but how useful? As in odds.

I kind of want to give them a try again but I am extremely bitter towards dexnav and absolutely despise it for wasting my time trying to get a shiny Porygon. The only non-breed method that gave me anything was SOS but all I see here is people telling me not to SOS for shinies and to breed it instead but I refuse to use a hacked ditto because it's cheating so there's no point for that.

Honestly, I do both, and I find that I do have faster hunts with DexNav, even though it's not consistently that way (my longest was Rattata at 700+, but my shortest was a shiny Tropius and shiny Deerling in one encounter).

Even though there's less babysitting with SOS, the way the odds are set after 70 up to 255 and then having to start all over is a real turn-off, and I've gone well over double chains before. My lowest hunt has been 46, but then again, I have the charm on all of my Gen 6 and 7 games. RNG is a bitch, man, and I really hope we hear about something regarding Bank soon.

The big problem is that the guy made it way too late into the game's life, after everyone just kind of burned out on ORAS, so nobody saw his calculator and assumed that the majority method that has been asserted as fact everywhere and anywhere for the game's entire life is true.

That calculator calculates the odds of a shiny happening, not the shiny rate. The maximum amount of rolls according to his own formula is 17, so the rate is 1/480-ish without the charm. That calculates how likely you are to have run into a shiny within that SL and that specific chain, not the shiny encounter rate.
But again, he was too late. When his calculator came out, no one was playing and they thought they already knew how it goes.

Solgaleo and Lunala can OHKO Mimikyu without activating disguise. Also, Klinklang's Gear Grind works excellently for the same thing. They're actually incredibly easy to chain aside from false swipe soaking them.

She took 512 calls to show up, so a couple of days of solid chaining. I don't get modest from the synchronizer, get timid instead, so might be better actually. It has snow warning, and the ivs are almost completely perfect.
