A lot of people that post here don't post in that other thread because not a lot of people want to shiny hunt literally every day. That's the reason it's on the weekend. Shadow pokemon in GoD are fixed to never be shiny. However, your starter Eevee, Mt. Battle's gift starters, Duking's trades, and the pokemon at the Poke Spots can be shiny.

Colosseum's shadow pokemon can be shiny (though you have to catch them and check, as even if they appear shiny on the trainer's side there's a chance they won't remain shiny once you catch them due to the ID and SID changing) but not your starters or Duking's Plulse.
