I found it pretty OK too at best, I wasn't as surprised as I would have expected, guess because I thought the animation would make for some interesting battles.

The anime feels kind of... expected. Seeing this just makes me realize that the whole thing will be essentially what happened in the games themselves, except Ash is the protagonist instead. Not much different happens from here. Not sure if Hau will appear, probably not?

On a side note, I want a big ass Gumshoos. They look too damn cuddly.

It feels like, if Amour has a strong chance at becoming canon in any capacity, it’s only possible in a world where Misty doesn’t exist. Because, as far as the XYZ series was concerned, none of Ash’s past companions (including but certainly not limited to Misty) did not exist. The most anyone got was a reference to Dawn’s Piplup. Even when Clemont’s special aired, he and Cilan exchanged names but didn’t recognize each other as friends of Ash’s, right?

Obviously this is just a thought, but it’s interesting that it takes eons and ages of definitive separation between XYZ and its predecessor series (20-ish years) and complete eradication of Misty’s memory (everyone’s memory) and Ash’s original personality (and feelings for Misty) for another ship to stand a chance. And even then, the ship is not written convincingly enough to believe that it’s mutual between Ash and this potential significant other. In fact, it takes an interview from a staff member to verify that there might be a future between the two of them at all after the XYZ series has come to a close.

Ash is interested in Tapu Koko and it is interested in Ash. If their ideals synchronize when they want to defend or protect something then they'd be able to use it no problem. Like a mentioned above, it seems that Tapu Koko is going to have a larger role in the anime similar to Puni-chan. If that's the case Ash doesn't need to capture it to form a bond, they'll create it over time.

I want UB's to be portrayed as fucking merciless in the anime. Buzzswole in particular I want to be shown as one of the strongest Pokemon in the anime to date.
