I posted in the last thread - I fixed 6 parks near me that weren't marked correctly. I did this over the last 10 days. 1 of them is now spawning shitmons and Jynx. So far the others still look dead.

I'm guessing there's more at play than just labeling a park. Maybe it needs to be a certain size? Maybe the servers haven't fully updated new info? Still a lot to discover.

My guess is PoGo updates map data every 7-10 days. OSM takes 24-72 hours to update new info, and there's always the risk of an autist changing it.

Don't just mark parks. Add any walking paths you see. Those seem to attract spawns as well.

On most days I'm traveling around northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, most of them are in small town gyms that don't see much turn over. I don't even bother with gyms in busier areas unless there's already a slot open. There are still some black holes in the middle of nowhere where spoofers haven't ruined the game.

I've gotten lucky with Chansey, 1 with my gf at the pier over the summer in like early August. It just spawned next to four lures, idt it was a lure spawn. Then I hatched one like 3 months later and then caught one at home during game 7 of Cubs world series game, also had a Lapras run away from that night during the game. Caught a vaporeon that night too. My apt was lit that night wasn't the first Lapras that spawned at home either, though the one that fled had 78% IVs reee, I've also caught a dragonite and snorlax and exeggutor at home - legit spawns no spoofing bs

I was in the middle of no nothing bumfuck no where and the first tiny town I got to with a pokestop and spawns had a tauros and santachu both days. That and the additional 1100 candies I've accumulated across the US are proof he's everywhere.

Explain nests pls.

How do I find them? I've seen quite a lot of Magnemites around my place, is it an evidence of Magnemite nest? I don't have a park nearby and I thought nests only occur there.

I was too late to add new parks in OSM before the newest migration, however does anyone know if playgrounds and dogparks will also create parks in GO? I didn't want to make it too obvious I was creating things for GO so I made the already existing playground in front of my home an actual playground in OSM. As well a little area behind my home where folks often walk their dogs a dogpark.

Seriously there are some really autistic folks keeping an eye out on their precious map. Some guy, who also edits in my town, apparantly already removed a "pokemon path" somewhere else in the country. I did notice another a valor guy I remember from primary school also edited shit in OSM hehe

Bump for this. I really don't understand how they work. I live in an urban area with spots all over the place, but as far as I know we don't have any nests anywhere nearby. The only known nest I ever went to was a pikachu nest in a different city a few months back.

I've been to a place that has tons of magnemites/voltorbs, but there is no park and they seem to spawn over an incredibly large area (three to four train stations in a row). They've been there since launch, so I guess it's not a nest since there was no migration?

A nest will be an overpopulation of one pokemon in a certain spot.

Magnemite and Voltorb usually spawn in the same biome, so I doubt what you guys are seeing is a nest. A nest only last 14 days, then it switches.

The vast majority of nests are parks. Sometimes piers and common grounds can be nests as well.

You'll know a nest when you see it. It will be one pokemon who keeps showing up in different spots within the same area.


Shitmon generally aren't a nest. They're just common as fuck everywhere.

Easyish. Two options: desktop scanner or mobile scanner. If you're doing your whole country then desktop scanner. There should be a working account generator so you can make 100-1000 workers in a jiffy. If not make 10-20 load up Pokemesh on your phone or pokemapgo.xyz and scan. You can also use pokesear.ch but it's curry tho faster than all manual

Ex - they will post "Vulpix is now Jynx!" without specifying where.

It's not the same rotation for every nest. Their Vulpix nest became Jynx, while mine became Bulbasaur.

Map changes take anywhere from a few days to a week it seems.

Spawn changes is a whole different animal. I can't pinpoint a timetable of when they add/delete spawn points.

So theoretically you could make a bunch of changes to the map and have them appear in game, but spawns wouldn't change until Niantic does whatever it is to update that information.

The last update was a few weeks ago when they added more spawns along walking paths.

This is my understanding. Niantic uses OSM for the actual in game map, and then determines the correct biome spawn points in some way at a later date. There's a school by my house which used to spawn mons in the summer. It wasn't marked as a school on OSM. Now it is and the spawns are gone. It's a dead zone.

Thats IVs not level. Level describes the CP, if a mon is lv30 that means it has the max CP at trainer level 29 (because you can always power mons up above your trainer lv).

The problem with evolving low lv mons is always that you need tons of candy and dust to power them up
