Interesting, but the thing is those guys worked under the assumption that stuff like battles would look better.
And truth is, only one scene of the first episode had good animation (Kiawe's z move), while the rest of the episodes (specially Litten's) was average or just bad.
The fact that so far only z moves scenes have had good shading and lighting says a lot.

I hated the anime since Advanced Generation simply because it all looked so digitally animated and cookie cutter, as opposed to Kanto/Johto where they used animation cels and changed the face models a lot for animation gags or emphasis. The anime felt flat for over ten years, bruh.

SM's actually animates almost non-stop like an American cartoon and they can't grasp that it needs simpler designs to pull that off. It's rather well animated for the most part.
