I strongly disagree. She is the single best written character to come out of Pokemon.

We see Lillie as a random girl running away from Aether Foundation in the beginning. She seems like a very sheltered girl, and then you slowly get to know her over time. They didn't throw the story on our face, instead, they let us get to know and care about the characters first.
Later on, It turns out that she is sheltered because her mom, the leader of the said Aether Foundation, is really controling and gave Lillie little to no freedom during her childhood.

Then she has a complete character arc where she grows up and learns to move on. In the beginning, she ran away from Aether Foundation, scared for her and her Pokemon's life. Now, she's grown enough to go back and fight the very same Aether Foundation, with the help of one friend who has supported her all this time.
By the end of it all, she's strong enough to leave on a journey of her own to save her crazy mother.
She even gives her only Pokémon, the one she went through all of this to save, to her friend who helped her get her life back, promising to return soon and by that time be strong enough to travel with him without being an hindrance.

This is a great character. Not only better than anything Pokemon had to offer before, but better than most characters from most games. Just because she doesn't become a strong trainer by the end of it all doesn't mean she hasn't grown. If she had just used Nebby to fight you one last time, I'm sure most of you wouldn't even be complaining.

This comes down to preferences, I guess. While N is easily the second best character in my opinion, he suffers from lacking enough screentime. His development felt too sudden. I liked him because he was the best Pokemon had to offer, but if this was any other RPG, a character that appears only in a single sidequest would have more screentime. If he was a character in SM, I think he would easily top Lillie.
I think this is one reason why BW aren't as popular as SM, even though they've been around for 6 more years. BW had a great story to tell, but not the right tools to deliver it.

I have both games but I'm going to wait before replaying it. Overall though the characters were enjoyable to be around. The contrast between the characters in Gen 7 and Gen 6 is night and day. When I saw the faggy-hype around Gladion I just dismissed him as an edgy character who would be loved by redditors and tumblr-users, but in the end he was super chill.

Hopefully Stars fixes some of the issues with pokemon Sun and Moon, it could easily become my favorite pokemon games with a few tweaks (and I want Lillie to be in the post-game)

Lillie's theme is perfect for a battle theme remix. I really hope we get to battle Lillie in Stars, it has the potential to be the peak emotional moment in the franchise.

I hated her at first, but I really liked the direction she was going after Aether Paradise... but I kept waiting for the part where I'd help her get a starter and she'd become an actual trainer but NOPE she just NEVER DOES THAT despite constantly saying she will. She even turns Nebby over to you for some ill-explained BS because the player needs to have the pokemon on the box.

She seriously should have ended up with Nebby and given you a cosmog or something to evolve yourself.
