Sadly I don't have a camera to show proof, but I got a Shiny Cubone a couple of days back while trying to catch a Kangaskhan for the dex. I was very pleased to see that it had Lightningrod and a workable nature. It will make a fine Alolan Marowak.

Serious (a neutral nature) isn't as good as Adamant of course, but it'll still do what I need it to do.

Shiny hunting Jangmo-o for the last 3 hours. I've been SOS chaining with crutch Smeargle build, I lost my chain after I miscounted a Hakumo-o's remaining PP.

I found that using any tanky Fairy-type works for Jangmo-o hunting. They only run Screech, Work Up, Iron Defense, and Dragon Claw, and all their setting up won't mean shit if you're immune. Unless you fuck up and get hit with Struggle.

I'm still pretty fucking pleased by my first S/M Shiny, now I need to keep trying for Salamence.

The SOS system is amazing if you build a Pokemon specifically for it, when you get the super rares like Snorlax on Route 1 or Salamence they're guaranteed basically to have stupid good IVs unless you luck out and get them immediately.

Set beside all the others, I think it's kinda obvious that S.O.S. Impish was RNG. It is confirmed: a KO'd Synchronizer does not affect S.O.S. encounters.

40-50 is the sweet spot for 4IVs according to most people I've seen testing it out.

I'm not a fan of the method but both times I did it for ditto I went to 80 and then over 100 since I was looking for shiny one, both were 4IV but certainly you don't have to go that high.

There was a lengthy discussion about that a few posts up.

A KO'd Synchronizer only works for the initial encounter because the Synchronizer is still in the first slot. Once you send your own 'Mon out though, it's not in the first slot anymore, so it won't affect S.O.S. 'Mons.

If you want to chain S.O.S. 'Mons with a desired nature, your Synchronizer has to be out as they arrive. Which means you need to train it.

I've been trying to chain for a Red Gyarados all day.
>first few times I kept a Magikarp in the red so I could get chains happening more easily

>then I kept getting stuck with Gyarados which would lock themselves into Thrash and wouldn't call for help
Right now I'm on Karp #20 and it's looking good so far. Got plenty of Ethers to maintain my Hold Back Munchlax and Nature's Madness Tapu Koko, and my Synchronise Abra is mowing down Karps left and right.

Hopefully this won't take too long. I spent an hour and a half trying to get a Snow Warning Vulpix.
