Hey /his, /tg/ here. I had an idea. Why don't /his/, /tg/, and /vp/ do some version of a nuzlocke together? For those of you who don't know, a Nuzlocke is pretty much playing Pokemon on hard mode. There's only 3 constant rules.
1: only catch the first pokemon you see in an area.
2: If a Pokemon dies it is dead forever and is either released or put in a ded box in the PC
3: Nickname all your Pokes because they your bros.
An anon from each board volunteers and either streams or posts updates in the thread. We could make it a taglocke and swap boards after every gym. This way all the boards are involved in a fun game/project everyone can get emotionally invested in.

Hey, /tg/ guy here, /tg/ was suggesting a Nuzlocke with a few added rules as an idea behind Winter Ball cross Board stuff. A Sort of DnDLocke with certain pokemon filed under classes based on DnD and the like just a few questions about the Class rules and what you would think fits in a Nuzlocke type of challenge.

Basic rule would be your Party cannot have more than one of a class + Standard Nuzlocke rules.

So the Class rules were sort of three types, which sounds best:

>Classes done on a pokemon basis, with classes assigned to individual pokemon Example: Primape is the a Barbarian class.

>Classes Assigned to types Example: Fighting Type being for Fighters.

>Classes as extra rules for Pokemon to follow, For example, Druid Class Pokemon only learning Weather moves and moves that are modified by weather

I know it's nothing Amazing, but I always wanted something like this to run a Nuzlocke with anyway, so input would be super.

No need to be this nitpicky, since Pokemon movesets will hardly match up to any kind of theme you'd want (you're gonna be using Tackle/Water gun for a long time for example) so there's no need for this rule.

Otherwise, it's good to go, I'd recommend playing B2/W2 since it has great Pokemon variety.

My only problem is types like Ice and Fire are hard to pin into these, As little Overlap as possible I think would make it easier to have more Diverse teams.

So 18 types could be divided by the classes to make Unique Classes.
Though we could make that have say 3 Types per class to give room for a little overlap with like you said, Fighting working for Barbarian and Fighter.

Hey, something else occured for that we could do for /his/. I was thinking back on some of the new pokedex entries and remembered how some pokemon are based on objects of importance or are said to be around for a long time

Why don't get get a small pokemon compilation and write things about their places in history and how they'd have been? Bronzong is based on one of those bells to call rain, for example. We could expand a write a little about how ancient societies would leave offerings for Bronzongs or make altars for them to come by and bring rain with them

Or how about ancient societies that lived near the ocean had more warfare because they could make more weapons and armor off Shellder and Cloyster, since the pokedex says that the tips of their spikes were found as speartips.

If we must we could ask /tg/ to brainstorm a little too because they're the masters of that sort of lore, but either way I think it would be nice. Maybe ten in-depth entries or so

Alola /vp/ Father Grimnar here Again. I have a rough rightup of the /tg/locke Dndlock Rules I have been mulling about, split it up into a few additional rules based around the core after I gave the idea to my DnD group I had today. Feedback is welcome.

Goal of this DnD-based Nuzlocke is to make your Pokemon Party feel like you're forming a DnD party. By "Limiting" the types you can use based on classes It makes your Party have a bit more character.


Basic Nuzlocke rules
- Must nickname
- Can only catch first pokemon of every route
- Pokemon that faint are "Dead", Put in box or release

plus:-

Random Pokemon encounters.

Your first 6 pokemon form "The Party"

Cannot Change Party members unless they "Die"

Cannot use Ether's But can use Potions found in game. Can only reset PP by having a "Long rest" at a Pokemon Centre

Party cannot have duplicates of any class. Classes are broken down by type.

If in BW2, play on Harder mode.

Enjoy the true WHFRP Experience as you cycle through your party quicker than your printer can push out the character sheets.

You could have a Pidgeot be say, Your Fighter because of Normal, or your Cleric because of Flying. But once you pick it, the Class slot is filled.

another thing to consider for plus could be that you add a currency thr player has to keeps track off outside of the game. You start with 200 gold, using a pokecenter costs 50 gold and every defeated trainer gives 5 or 10 gold of course that doesn't apply to grindable trainers with special trainers like gym leaders giving you more.
Outside of the pokecenter the gold could be used for stuff like having a second chance to catch a Pokemon on a route of you fucked up or being able to use an ether for restoring PP.

You can use Vanille's pokemon before Viol's if you want. Megazard and Bravest bird are locked behind Citizen Snips though. He has to die before you can use them
