the issue is with mewtwo, which has a max CP of 4144

add the fact that mewtwo is psychic, the only moves that are super effective against him are bug (lol), dark (no good dark STAB types in gen 1, if i'm not mistaken) and ghost pokemon which are too weak in PoGo

i'd take snorlax/dragonite/lapras over 5+ mewtwos in one gym. I really hope this doesn't actually happen when/if he's released.

My Vaporeon and Slowbro are both at Gyms near schools, one being directly on the damn schoolyard. There was a day off on Monday and Tuesday, but by now, none of these little shits beat the gym.

Is anyone else realizing that without this event, the game is just going to fall back into headache city with a population of like 3? I honestly would play it every day if they never got rid of double candies/shorter walk distance. There's not enough reward in the day to day activity for me to want to play, but when everything got doubled I honestly thought it was pretty good.

Here's hoping they announce that the increased candy rewards are coming back for good.

If people play the same game for long periods of time, they burn out and quit permanently.

That's why MMO events are staggered over several days or even weeks, that's why content is spaced out over months. Game devs are always competing for players' attention but they can't hog it 100% because people want to play other games too. Only the real autists who play exactly one game give a shit about lengthy endgame content and stuff.

Periodic events keeps interest going and breathes life into a dead game. And let's be honest, do you play PoGo 24/7? No. You keep the game open and check it occasionally. It's no different from a normie checking in on a Halloween event but not otherwise, just different timescale. It's why the cow clicker formula works so well for mobile games too because there are a ton of ADD triggers but you don't spend much time on them per trigger and can spend as much time as you want on it while you're waiting for a bus or sitting in a meeting or whatever. There's no time commitment like a MMO raid, and that's why people keep playing.
