I have a 46% snorlax, according to pokeassistant at 100% IV he would have 80 CP more, I say roid that fatty and get yourself a high level mon for placing on gyms.
High CP mons aren't affected much by IV.

It's random chance to get anything from lvl 1 to 30. You just keep rolling, basically. As a fresh lvl 30, your goal should be to try and get a lvl 28-30 version of every Pokemon for now before you give a damn about IVs.

Today's highlights:

Finallly got enough candies to get a Dragonite, rolled Steel Wing/Dragon Claw, really wanted Dragon Breath but I lost that coin toss, guess it'll make for a nice gym scarecrow.

Saw my first wild Snorlax today, Zen Heabutt / Earthquake 1400 CP, yet another scarecrow, 8 candy was nice though

Got Tangela in a 5 km egg, only need to hatch or find a Chansey and the rest of the pokedex is just a matter of buddy distance.

I'm powering up an 89% fire fang/blast, and I got hit with a bulldoze on one evolve and bite/blast on my 80% one. Also caught 2 dratinis, which is good because I still need another 29 candies to evolve my Dragonair. I was smart enough to save 3 high iv Dratinis before they changed the way IVs work, and I'm going to try to evolve and power them all up now that my Dragonite is hitting the CP wall.

I had too many Gastly so I evolved a bunch of stuff I still needed for my Pokedex like Muk and Charizard. I got a bunch of stuff to toss to the top of gyms - Exeggutors, Arcanines, and Gyarados (who got fucking Twister). Now I'm only missing Chansey and Dragonite which are going to be a long haul if I don't find enough Dratini before the end of this event.

I found out that hypno is the GOAT actually, since drowzee is not common here I had no time to toy with one.

I lost interest in the game until I started spoofing. Now I don't have to use $20 of gas to go somewhere that someone might have seen a Dratini once. I do only spoof within my city though, no globe trotting even if Kangaskhan is one of my favorites.

I just decided that kind of takes the fun out of it. I like walking around and leaving it to chance what I find. I used to scan but I don't even bother anymore.

I work for as a city valet and can walk around. They give you a portable battery too, so I've been getting paid to play basically.

After two lucky 10kms in a row I got a second Snorlax and a Dratini. Enough for my first Dragonite. Got dragon pulse :(
