Why does Ash always scratch his nose when he's complimenting Serena?

XY's ending as a whole was quite good. I loved seeing all the pokemon say goodbye to each other, Goodra and Greninja were shown, Ash and Clemont's final battle, Bonnie, etc.

I also liked seeing Giovanni and Delia/Oak, and the last shot with Ash at the house was great.

Dp191 had a great finale too, but I'm not sure if I prefer XY's last ep over it. Not even counting Amour, it was good all around.

Iris wouldn't even be appealed especially since it's a post game thing. Also, Cynthia would make more sense because they'd probably do it during DP's remakes. As for contests, according to the status quo Dawn's probably out because of Johto while Serena can show off contests since she's doing them now, and SM has those Kalos tie-ins. Really, Iris is really less likely to be used.

Before this episode DP was my favourite goodbye but i think the XY&Z one has managed to surpassed it. Seeing the XY trio, Greninja, Goodra, Alan/Manon, Shota and those flashbacks with Volt playing in the background and one last XY gang scenes made me like it a lot more. Plus Serena's goodbye was actually pretty well done and the last Clemont Vs Ash battle too. Finally the "And To Our Own Way" in the sky and Ash back to Pallet Town in the night sealed the deal. This was the best goodbye the Pokémon Anime has ever had and you could even say a pretty darn good finale too.

I really hate to agree with tumblr of all places, but they are right. Serena really hasn't done much in terms of character development outside of Ash and her Tripokalon arc. I mean, Citron and Bonnie managed to shown to have a life outside of Ash. Without amourshipping, Serena isn't that well written. The way I see it, them doing it subtly with the animation is just a way of doing it. Especially since Japanese culture is all about subtle about things. They kind of had to keep it that way because Serena went full into mouth to mouth. Subtle after not being so subtle.
