I just read this and thought about the same.

It just straight out implies that after you complete main plot of the game (Island Challenge) you will be able to go thru the traditional Pokemon League of Alola Region.

Hey, meaning we might get a whole bunch of new NPC's. Right? I mean we might not be building it cause it seems it is being built as you see there. So I assume as we end our main plot and the Island Challenge, becoming Island Challenge Champion, we can take on the newly open official Pokemon League of Alola.

Bet there will be gyms after we load the save file after clearing the game.

So it's 7 trials, 4 Kahunas, evil teams and then after you complete the main plot, it's traditional 8 gyms Pokemon League with Elite Four and Champion to beat?

Oh man, this game is looking really packed and deliciously full. My hope is restored, big time to be honest.

Secondly, who cares that we don't get Frontier if the Battle Tree ends up being just as good?

Thirdly, we don't even know fully about the Battle Tree yet, nobody's said there can't be both. They included both the Trainer Hill and the Frontier in Emerald, for example. I don't consider this likely but we don't even know anything about Battle Tree except "old favorites show up".

In fact, it's actually called the "Battle Tree". We've got "Battle Tree" and "Battle Royal", two new ways of fighting which actually have the "Battle ______" naming scheme of Frontier facilities. It could well be that there is a "Frontier" of sorts, but the facilities are scattered throughout the region as a whole, like in the anime, rather than being confined to a single island. Scott may still show up yet. But more importantly, it doesn't need the Frontier nametag to be a good battle facility, it just needs to be less dull than a maison or battle tower.
